And is it better when the message is read but you don't get any answer or when you receive a no as a reply?

Delete your sent box so you don't obsess over it either way.

They'll reply if/when they want to.

Thanks Lu. I probably have more to think about because I am not messaging anyone's profile for the sake of it. I try to find only people who can be genuinely interested.

That's a great approach

But I think putting too much hope on a response is prolly quite damaging. Of course statistically, few will reply, and those that do might take their sweet ass time about it

I agree. Sometimes it's just a pity that some particular profile does not answer. Probably because I send a face pic.

If someone doesn't reply, it's a blessing.

They weren't for you. You can put that time into someone who will bring you fun and excitement rather than wasting it on someone who wasn't right

That's right. A zen approach I should use more often.

I see we live in the same area. I owe you a coffee, for your kindness. And no, without any other hidden goal if not for a nice chat.

There could be many reasons why people do not get a reply.

Firstly remember that nobody owes you anything here. A lot of emails are completely unsolicited as profiles are not read correctly.

Others are not required to rise to your own level of enthusiasm, just because you sent a message.

Note that couples and single female profiles receive far more emails than single guys, to the point that if responses are not mailed immediately, ones email box is filled up pretty rapidly to the point you can not read old emails anymore.

Thus also raising the issue that a lot of accounts simply have not got the time to respond to all email messages or it would simply turn into a fulltime job. People have busy lives.

Do single guys get a bad wrap? Possibly, but also consider who gave them the name in the first place. If some single guys behaved themselves a bit better, perhaps the rest would feel the benefit.

I do try to answer as many as I can but it is impossible to answer them all. I have 137 messages in our box at the moment. Any one line messages that can be read without opening the message are deleted straight away. Any that obviously messaged without reading the profile are deleted. That doesn't leave many to reply to

I've found when you do reply to say thanks but I'm not interested you just get met with abuse or bombarded with messages from them further, so as harsh as it is, I just delete the message.
