One could ask the same question about sports such as: rugby, judo, wrestling etc.

Covid isn't going away in a hurry, but there will come a point when the pressure for the above to continue, will result in the rules being relaxed.

The risks will have to be balanced with society getting back to some sort of normal.

There will be some for whom these risks are too high, and they will not participate. The rest of us will have to make decisions based on our own situation.
