How do I use skype. Do I need a phone number and user name to chat to someone????

No phone number needed. Just install skype on your laptop or pc. Some mobile phone come with the app already integrated. If not you can still download it on the mobile phone but not on blackberry ( if I am right )

Next thing is ask for the person you want to chat with skype ID
