These are genuine questions - no judgement intended at all, just honestly curious.

Do you worry about STIs? What action (if any) do you take to protect yourself? Would you be upset if you played bareback with someone who later contacted you and told you that they had tested positive for something or do you just accept that it's part of the risk?

Honestly, I prefer bareback. Condoms irritate me and they do lessen the pleasure. But I am scared of catching something, particularly HIV, so I'd be really interested in hearing how other swingers deal with this.

Like anything in life we're all free to manage risk as suits our comfort levels. Assuming we don't force our preference onto someone else against their will then it's comparable to other aspects of life.

For us, we take Prep that we purchase via greencrosspharmacy. This mitigates HIV.

We will always try to play in well lit areas so that physical indicators (if present) can hopefully be seen. This is probably true for all who play without protection for oral.

After this we accept the remaining risk. Not an indicator to anyone but ourselves - to date and after 10 years of swinging we're still to be unlucky.

We always mention early on that we prefer to play bareback, our photos show bare play. We will play safe but the other couple will know this way that we do play bareback. They're then able to chose to play or not based on their comfort levels/risk matrix.

We chat to any potential meets for a while before even thinking of meeting them, also we do not meet loads of different people. If we got any strange feelings that made us unsure, we would stop the meet straight away. Yes there is always a risk, but we would rather take the risk and enjoy the sex, rather than use condoms and nor really enjoy it.
