You can report them to the council, they will ask you to keep logs of any/all incidents. However noisy neighbours are a common complaint & other than write to them to keep it down I don't think much will get done unless its a long ongoing problem

the council can supply you with monitoring equipment to gain proof of the disturbance

Is it a rented house? Find out who the landlords are and approach them.

Or get together with your neighbours and all approach the people in a reasonable way.

Download a decibel meter for your phone, make recordings. It might prompt the council to act a bit quicker in loaning you 'proper' sound recording gear.

Consult with the Environment Dept. of your district council. They have access to sound monitoring equipment which they can install in your home and time date stamp calibrated recordings of noise above the legal threshold for nuisance.

Also, if the couple are "rowing" then you might try contacting the police to express your concern for the safety of the children. If all of your neighbours are doing this too and all of these agencies work together then the problem family might be re housed away from your neighbourhood.

Good luck dealing with this horrible problem

We have never had nice neighbours until now. The house next door to us is rented out to the council. We have had some truly awful people living there. Last year it was a drug dealer! A young couple with kids clearly dealing from the property.

We couldn't have any of our windows or doors open in the summer because of the smell. Our house stank of !

The landlord didn't seem to care. We had people coming and going at all hours of the night on push-bikes, in cars literally knocking the door handing over cash and off they went.

They would have people round every weekend playing loud music, shouting and screaming and throwing fag butts over our fence.

One of our best friends is a policeman and we spoke to him about it and he said basically there's nothing we can do. The police weren't interested, it's too much paperwork.

Thankfully now we have a lovely young couple with a little girl living next door to us. It makes such a nice change to be able to sit in the garden and relax without the noise.

Nothing worse, than twat neighbours, it is a big problem for folk, talking does nothing, cos they ain’t got the intelligence to understand. Do it the legal way and provide evidence.

I had awful neighbours when my children were young, it wasn't just one house but several in the street. Noise, aggresive behaviour, antisocial behavour, drug dealing etc. The police did nothing about it, in fact sometimes they came and bought drugs themselves.

I moved, it was the only way to make our lives better. Apart from all the hassle while living there my children got tarred with the same brush at school just because we lived on that road.

It was difficult to move but well worth it.

Yes, so my soundsystem is louder then theirs and I'm not easy to intimate so if a "please shut up fails" I drown them out with a little terrorcore. My other neighbour's luckily are cool with this and always thank me for sorting the issue.

I usually bang on their window and tell them to ‘shut the fuck up!’ It does the trick! Quiet as a mouse afterwards.

Sorry to hear it. This article, "Guru Habits - How to Handle Noisy Neighbours and Dogs" has got a lot of good stuff in it. The author says he's had every kind of neighbour problem and tried every kind of response and found what works and what doesn't.

Here's the link.

Had some neighbour trouble just consistently report him to the council and police for criminal activity. Took 12 months but got him evicted in the end!

I just moved into an area which I love, but the neighbour across the way from me is a proper nosy bastard!

Before I could even get out of my car he was over to me and asking me questions.. He even asked how much the house cost.

Ffs what a nosy man and whenever I'm outside he stares over the fence to try and get my attention. Yesterday the plumber arrived and he was questioning him for around 20 mins before he could walk through my door!

I don't want to fall out with anyone, but I really feel like telling him to fuck off!

Both of these bitces are real attention seekerz

The one who keeps havin the parties whilst lockdoen was on

Got a visit from the local area police,

Buy ended up getting invited into the garden psrties n were gettin selfies taken with all her slaggy mstes

Apparently they were even offering to 'SHAG' them in their uniform

Wen i heard this all of us other neighbours were just laffin

Them tbi kin thry are now their bessie mates

Un be known how many of up and their neighbours at the back have also complained

Lets say me n my daughter (15) both witnessed 3 lads in black hoodies come leggin it out her front door with either machetes or crow bars after smashin her sittin room up

And someone had earlier thrown bricks through her living room window

I had the police knockin at 1.30am in the morning so i told them everything we both saw, plus the neighbour at the end had the 3 on his camera aswell so they got kopped for in the end

Good question. I'm not sure if you can but maybe someone else can help??

I know you can type address names into Google and the price which houses have sold for comes up, but I'm not sure if this works everytime

We had a neighbor back in Kent that kept banging on the wall of his house when we were in bed, he was a fireman, 1 Sunday morn I lost my temper and went knocking and see what his problem was.

Anyway I had a little talk with him about doing once more, he threatened with the police and not long after he and his family moved

Banging party at the bottom of my garden last night. Started at 3pm, went on to 2am. I have had to put up black out curtains and blinds. As their 3 flood lights drown my bedroom in light. Its like sleeping on an airport runway. I also have to have my aircon running to drown out the banging base noise.

I complained once, had envorimental health out. It was a Thursday, and a school night at 2am. Party goer's came round and spat all over my car. Telling me I was disresctful as it was a wake. By this time the Police had arrived, and as my car was on my drive it was a civil offence and nothing they could do.

I was not being direspectful, it was a school night. I had to be up in 5 hours getting kids ready for school.

This might sound a little harsh, but your best bet is to catch them doing something illegal, unless it’s a council house, this is your only/quickest way of getting rid of them.

Even if it’s a council house, they won’t be move out very quickly, so short term you could get some shit from them.

HM Land Registry... a quick search online and if you pay £3 you get a full report.

I've had / have neighbour issues. It's not nice! You have to stay within the law, which at times is very hard, and just do everything above board.

It's rarely a police matter... but it is a council matter. If they are in a council rented property you are in a good position. If it's privately rented, it can be a whole lot harder, depending on the attitude of the landlord.
