Has anyone been in this scenario? You been flirting with the person, love their photos and conversation going pretty well. But you totally got too carried away and realised you haven't seen eachother faces. So you ask for a face photo. They oblige. Then your heart drops and you just don't know what to say... what can you say without offending?

Oh my god this happens far more than I'd care to admit!! I tend to leave them on unread for a few days, make out I was busy and then make my excuses. He just flat out tells them.

Either way is quite harsh but I just don't know what else to say as "hey thanks for the pics, listen as much as we seem compatible socially I don't feel it physically. Sorry, all the best x" would be harsh.

We've been on the receiving end of that and as thick skinned as we try to be we still have feelings. I don't want to upset anyone

I'd just say pictures don't always show the true look.

I was in a situation where I've looked at the pics sent and thought "no way" but still agreed to meet for a social. As soon as I saw him face to face the only thought I had was "Oh yeah! When can I get you naked!"

Honestly, just go on about it. I just see it as walking up to the bar, asking the barman does he have the rum I want - he says no, so I move on with it & get something different

Yes, we learnt that quickly. No point wasting either party's time.

The same goes for us, we don't have any face pics in our profile. But request and send pics if the initial profile or message is tantalising enough early on, so there are no surprises and awkward messages later.

We don't like to come across as shallow, but there has to be an attraction.

I agree there has to be an attraction. But has anybody found that because they connect that they find how a person looks a little more attractive? I know it’s kinda a big deal, particularly on here, but I can hope right??

Yes quite a few times..

Get really Carried away with flirting and then boom

I just politely say oh im really sorry but looks wise your just not my type. Thats why now I do ask for a face pic as I send one in the beginning..

You are actually right as I have met someone I didn't fancy,simply because he was really lovely and I at least owed him a social. We got on really well,no physical attraction but we are really good friends now.

Yes, there is always that chance, but in the fast moving world of "Fab" with many messages a day and a vanilla life to deal with too, then there has to be a real connection over the messages (which is often quite difficult to do) in order to get to that stage.

I ask for a fave pic from the beginning, and when I message someone I send a face pic. I'm okay with the other person not immediately sending a face pic, but they do run the risk that I'll say no once they send one. Not much I can do about that, just send a face pic straight away

It kind of happens both ways. I always send face pictures if messaging someone, but occasionally get a message out of the blue and it goes back and forth a while, then one of us remembers and asks for a face pic... occasionally, it’s pleasant surprise. Sometimes it’s a few more pleasantries, but intentionally letting the conversation drop. Other times, THEY ignore you immediately after!

I must have a very polarising face or a face that doesn’t suit my body?

No. We always get the face thing dealt with as early as possible, within a few messages.

If it's somebody we have initiated contact with then we would send a face photo first and we'd have quite a lot of leniency on them feeling comfortable reciprocating.

If they initiated contact then we expect them to go first. If they don't then the conversation will be stifled and we are likely to doubt their sincerity.

A face we're not attracted to is likely to be a deal-breaker so we'll deal with it as a priority.

That’s it - I’d prefer them to be up& honest. Than me waste time messaging & then discovering it.

Just wish them well & move on. It’s like getting offended because someone doesn’t find you attractive? Not everyone will.. are you going to get offended when they don’t support the same football team as you?...

Sadly had this happen a few times ,both ways i might add so we tend to get the dreaded face pic chore done early on as it can be time wasting and deflating finding out as you get excited you might have found someone you click with ,made more difficult for us as there is 2 of us to be happy to go forward ...

I havent had this yet thankfully and when I sent mine too. It is that terror thou when you send it and then dont hear from the other person for a bit.

Maybe Im picky and have been lucky! I love kissing so someones lips are a big thing for me
