Meets allowed?

We have been checking the government guidelines and it states that we can:

stay overnight away from your home with your own household or support bubble, or with members of one other household

Does this mean that private meets are okay now?

If they are though, how would people feel about this?

I'd be happy to meet but I think it would probably be from my friends list for now. If people are meeting, which lets face it they are then that's their prerogative. I never judge anyone. I'm a key worker on the frontline so the governments guidelines are so consistently inconsistent that it doesn't really matter what we all do.

Just for the'fab police'... This was a joke. I don't want to meet during the current restrictions and nor do I have a 2 metre 3 inch long willy... Just saying as I know so many on here take things literally..

That part of the guidelines did not specify about the social distancing, as it was under friends and family

I guess it was a more general question about people’s own views for those without 2m+ willies

Assuming the guidelines did allow, would people just jump back into swinging (sensibly), or would people still give it a little extra time?

We are kind of in the latter, but we have each other to entertain, but for singletons we imagine that drive is somewhat backing up!

We are very lucky.. lockdown together was fun, We do miss clubs and our sexy swing friends.. but a few more weeks before we will consider meeting.. Nice having something to look forward to.

But they don’t allow it, so it’s a moot point. And the guidelines do definitely specify this.

If you spend the night in the home of someone in your bubble, you need to maintain 1-2m social distancing. So I can stay over at my friends house after a few drinks, or kids can stay with grandparents to give parents a break.

And as the guidelines do not yet allow it, I doubt many people would be that desperate to shag a stranger that they would risk their lives or their health.

Once the virus & the R rate are sufficiently under control, and people can meet safety, I’m sure there are a lot of people who will dive straight back in and an equal number who will hang back & wait to see how things develop.

Also OP - the bubble rules for singles changed a while back. Couples who live separately (like my partner & I) have been able to meet and spend the night together for several weeks - as long as it is with the same partner.

I’d imagine a lot of singles have already taken advantage of that & created a ‘couples bubble’ with a FWB.

The guideline specifically says:

"You should continue to maintain social distancing with anyone you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble when doing so.

If you are in a support bubble you can continue to see each other without needing to maintain social distancing".
