Constantly getting messages from guys, some surprisingly polite.. who always get a nice polite response back. But others that are written by what can only be described as rude bellends!

Very few it seems. It’s almost comical when the first message asks something the is clearly opposite to something you’ve mentioned in your very first line or status

We have single guys messaging us then they get arsey when we say we don't meet single guys. Our profile clearly states we don't.

We get it a lot. Sometimes amusing I must admit... I had one today saying “Your Mrs needs my 9 inches inside her” firstly, I am the Mrs... secondly .. I really don’t... and thirdly.. On what planet does this line actually ever work?!

The thing I find funniest is the “scattergun” approach. When people blatantly use a standard cut and paste message that they send out, completely forgetting who they’ve sent it to already. The amount of identical messages I get from the same men week on week is hilarious. It’s the whole spam email effect “if I send to enough people someone must surely reply”

No, a lot don't or wont read (or just do not care). No matter what you write, there is always going to be those who just message regardless. It's not about what you're looking for, it's about what they want.

It's not just the single guys either (though they are statistically the worst offenders if only due to the sheer number of accounts). We've had all sorts of messages counter to what we want. The worst though are when we posted meet requests (back when we could..anyone remember those days?). You ask for a social meet in the evening to see where things go but someone would always message can you come round at 2 am and get down to business?

Site has it's share of chancer's and always will.

Just use the message filters. It makes fab simpler but even then, it only goes so far.

We find that loads of people don’t read profiles, so we’ve changed ours several times to make it easier and easier but it made no difference unfortunately.

We get this a lot on my profile. Tried to make the write up clear and easy well the top bit anyway.

I find most don't read profiles. I get requests of females who say they will "turn me" when i clearly state i'm straight and females are for my other half. Guys are for me.

or messages from people outside of the guy age range thinking because they have a missus in the range they will get lucky

It seems worse at the moment too, but we think it's because most sensible people are not actively looking for meets right so they're not really messaging anyone and have put things on hold or have got a few interests who they can't meet right now.

The horny few who just want wank chat or those will try their luck for a meet with *anyone* along with people using the scattergun approach are not put off by the current situation and so keep trying and filling your inbox with drivel.

Some do to be fair but lots don’t, it’s the want to meet now messages that irritate the most for us as our profile clearly states we don’t meet instantly. Also the ones who are way out of our age range but think we will change just for them.

To the people who do read profiles and write personalised messages, please keep it up as it’s appreciated

I do and if I message and get a negative reply, I just thank the couple or lady for reading the message and for sending an honest reply. Some just need to understand that not everyone is another person cup of tea.

The amount of times we get sent random friends requests from single straight guys is ridiculous. I'll look at our "fabbed pics" and find that 99% of the time it's some horny dude who has gone through all our public pics fabbing them then hits "add friend" in a frenzy hoping to see more . Instead they get blocked.

Some people do. Others dont or as someone said above they do but disregard whats in it. We have had couples and were not looking for couples and weve had fellas with their meet now or asking me to meet them alone when its stated in our profile that we dont do any of those things. On my bad days i will admit to being a bit snarky with people like that but most of the time i just delete the message

Nope. We used to have quite a long profile with our likes and preferences etc. We shortened it and people still don’t read it.

I always read profiles, it gives you an insight into the person/couple.

With guys, some will read and ignore what you've said and carry on regardless. That's their arrogance, ignorance or just taking a chance in a desperate attempt hoping you'll change your mind.

Whatever way you look at it, just block them.

I get mailed by couples fairly often and tbh, they have obv not read my profile and they are as bad at taking the huff when rejected.

If it bothers people so much then block the ones you've no interest in and as has been said, yes, you may not want to completely write off single guys, but block anyway and you go looking when you want that dynamic.

If I get overwhelmed I block mail from all and do the searching myself

This annoys the life out of us and because they aren't site supporters they don't see their previous messages were they sent the exact thing out over and over.

I think fab should employ cut and paste detecting software then this wouldn't happen. Other sites use it

It is long, but it's broken up into bullet points which makes it fairly easy to process.

If people can't be bothered reading it, then they are obviously not right for you so do they bother?

I personally don't think the site design helps.

The profile text is dropped right to the bottom of the page and so prioritises everything else over it.

It really needs to be shifted further up and the contact buttons need to drop to the bottom.

Judging by some of the messages we get, they have clearly not read the profile, and do not understand the dynamics of what we're after.

Guys messaging saying they would "bang the wife" and make Hubby watch etc clearly have not read it.

Also, this one isn't just exclusively to guys, if they'd read the rules on our page they'd also know that sending "hey" as the full extent of their message is pointless and they shouldn't have wasted their time.

We even had one today that simply read "I have a fantasy". Congratulations, you're in the right place, we all do... That's why we're on fab.

The short answer to the question is very few do. It's always clear to us when they haven't bothered so tend to just delete them without even bothering to look at the profile. Some do and will always try to reply to nice messages even if not interested in meeting as it's always nice to receive compliments and hold a decent conversation. Hi, we’re Nobby & Nora, two keen cyclists (hence all the flouro & lycra shorts in our pics) and when we’re not on the bikes we love nothing more than to hang around on pavements waiting for unsuspecting (but far from innocent) drivers to leave their vehicles long enough slap a ticket on it. We love nothing more than to hand someone a fine for slightly parking on the line in parking bays, actually a little wet writing this. Anyways cant stop, off for a ride (side by side in the middle of the road of course).

It’s still worth writing one though as the best meets I’ve had are with people who have read my profile.

The ones that don't read our profile are easy, delete and block. The ones that do fall into 2 halves. One half is polite individual messages, if its interesting they may even get a reply or conversation. What really irritates are the ones that question our relationship. We are excactly what it says on the tin!

So you guys are together? that was a joke btw

Some do read ours, we read all before we'd consider messaging,seems like that would be the sensible thing to do

No, the majority don't read them. Recently, as an experiment, I changed mine to a load of total nonsense and with various quite specific/niche requirements etc, most people that messaged clearly hadn't even looked at it.

So I've reached the conclusion that my profile could say just about anything & it would make very little difference.
