Yes, I think it's that the person saying it either hasn't met the right person, or is too inhibited to really enjoy it.

If you don't feel comfortable in your

own body, you're not going to enjoy it.

It's also about the partner. Some partners just...DO IT for you. Others, not so much.

If they think it's over-rated then they don't know how to enjoy it and probably have wanked so much that they have lost their sexual impulse and desire to engage sexually with others, and they've probably become so immune to porn because they've seen so much of it that they believe there is more buzz from watching porn than with having sex with others. It should be a mutual act of passion and pleasure between people, and not a hard physical challenge to achieve orgasm with no other thought in mind. I can accept that some may believe it is a physical and mental challenge and if they can't reach orgasm they try again and again and cover up their frustration by saying that sex is over-rated, but if their mind is constantly on the end result, then they are cheating themselves of the full experience of what sex is all about, and that is perhaps why they can't orgasm at the end.

It takes a strong mind and a deep desire to bring pleasure as well as receive pleasure, and they should not be taking sex for granted for a single second. It is an event and a joyful experience. It should not be seen as a physically hard task. I think if they were to fully embrace the experience of sex from the first moment to the last then they would never say that sex is over-rated. The mutual feelings and emotions it creates within us, holding each other with lust, love and passion as we embrace our bodies together, and for a brief moment we become one, and in that moment the whole world makes sense and you want to cry because the moment is so beautiful. Now that is sex.

Tbf I wasn’t that bothered about sex even having been on here...

But 2 years ago met someone who was just the ting to my yang and the wed was outstanding because the chemistry was so strong.

It’s over now and I’m actually worried I’ll never feel that again

This nails it for me. I guess it's a scale from a asexual to sex addicted. Depending on where you fall on the scale will determine how over-rated (or not) you think sex is.
