Sexuality options

With so many men being "fab straight" (hate that term) who list themselves as straight but who would be up for playing with men, could the Fab options be tweaked a little?

Currently, you have to choose from either straight, bicur, bi or gay. Either do away with these options or give a 'prefer not to say' option. Then, in the 'interests' section, include options such as 'MM Oral' 'MM Wanking'.... and make these searchable.

Men who might not feel ready to be outed but who would be interested in playing with a cock could seek out or be sought by compatible people. I know I (Rob) would have liked this option when I was exploring my sexuality without having to deal with the bi-male discrimination.

Thoughts?

Why not have a coloured slider on your profile, and then you can move the arrow as much or as little along it as you like?

Ridiculous. If you’re willing to play with another mans cock, you’re at least bi-curious. How many options do you want

I thought that’s bi-curious is there for. That’s how men and women use it in fab.

Have a heteexible option.

I'm down as bicurious (and oral rather than top, bottom or flexible) for that reason rather than bisexual.

I go through fazes of wanting cock but I don't particularly find men attractive but I also wouldn't turn down giving or receiving a bj (as long as it was how I liked it).

Bi playful would be a decent option to have,

would be a more accurate description for some,

for the ladies as well as the guys though

To me that’s the same as bi-cu. I don’t get why there’s any need for another label.

If people want clarification, they ask

This is my point. There's still a huge stigma attached to being a bi or gay man. With women, some level of bisexuality is generally assumed and celebrated. Some men would (and do) choose to take their own lives rather than face their sexuality openly.

I'm proposing the option to remain unlabelled but to detail any same sex desires.

But that DOES make you bi-curious, this is my point. I’m down as bi-curious because I would play with women in a sexual encounter but wouldn’t date or fancy women normally. That’s the label for it, bi-curious.

Men choose to LIE rather. I’m sorry, but if you play with cocks, suck cocks or fuck cocks during sexual play, you’re bi-curious. There’s no getting away from it. I’m hugely put off by any man that can’t admit this to themselves. Like this morning, got a message from a guy labelled as straight with a TV/TS verification. If you can’t admit your sexuality to people on a site like this, I am not interested.

I think the sexuality box should just be deleted from profiles. People lie so it's irrelevant anyway.

'Looking for' covers it.

To be fair they probably can't admit their sexuality to themselves.

I have gone from straight, to bi curious to bisexual on here, as I have had more encounters and accepted who I am.

I think if men are still having issues with being bi then I don't think labelling on Fab will help because those confused feelings will still be there after a meet.

I disagree with you on what bicurious means - it is specifically for people that feel attraction but have not had experience and want to explore. It is understood in fabs to mean a weak desire or situational bisexuality but that's not what it really means. I think biplayful would be an amazing label to have alongside it. I browse for/consider couples and it's a long, looong conversation checking every woman's bicurious label for what it actually means.

I'd argue there should be less choice. You are either Straight, Bi or Gay. The former and latter are fixed positions and the nuances of where you fit in the Bi spectrum will be established when you get chatting.

Ok so for the purposes of meeting to you identify with what you hope to achieve or with what you have had experience of historically?

Just do away with the all these outdated, antiquated labels. Society labels people into these boxes which is just ridiculous. Just have a list of sexes you enjoy playing with. Who cares about giving it a name or putting you in a pigeon hole?

North Wessex Downs

A useful discussion.

There's a vast distance between guys who MIGHT enjoy a mutual fiddle in the right company guys who engage in anal, meet other guys for 1-to-1 meets and guys who attend gay saunas etc. Whilst people may be wary of the latter, on the basis of high partner exchange rates and potential much riskier sex (pre-exposure prophylaxis has led to the abandonment of condoms by many), the former is very different (although of course not entirely risk free). Similarly, a guy who has no attraction to males, but may enjoy a fiddle in the company of a woman, versus a guy who might actually fancy the male half of a couple more than the female half is again very different, and may influence whether or not people wanted to meet. As such, a more accurate scale to reflect differences etc. may be more useful. That said many may still fib if they think they'll get their leg over.....Nevertheless I think it would be useful .......

Some would argue gender labels are outdated and antiquated because they force people into one of those 'boxes'. But if we do away with sexuality labels and then by extension gender labels is it not gonna get awfully confusing about these parts?

Had a chap insist that he was straight, as he wouldn't go with a TV in 'real life' and only meets them on Fab as "they're easy and only want to please the man" (i dared to suggest he was neither straight nor an unselfish lover ), and he "considers them women when dressed up".

I suppose there are lots of interesting interpretations of sexuality but in the end does it really matter?

My own spin on things are if a guy fancies Guys he is gay if he fancies guys and girls he is bisexual. If in the heat of a passion fuelled mfm situation there is some touching is that a labelled activity?

Each to their sexuality and does it really matter to anyone?

Ah right, same as Morebutt I would take bi-curious to mean that you're "interested in" rather than having "experience of"
