Thanks for your wonderful input everyone. I only asked as lots of women on here describe themselves as sluts, not seen any mention of the word slag yet, i.e "daddy's little slag", "I'll be your naughty slag", "I'm a fat slag" etc etc

Slut is a much richer and complicated word, it means different things to different people.

I'd say *most* of the people who self-identify as sluts do not do it to disparage themselves or autohumiliate; they do it to indicate sexual openness and celebrate said promiscuity - which is actually a valued and sought after characteristic here to a certain extent. Slag doesn't allow for much variation, it is solidly an insult.
