Curvy or bbw?

I'm a size 18, 36G boobs. I have a smallish waist and a big bum! I've always described myself as curvy, today a guy described me as a bbw and I've never thought of myself as that... So my question is - what size would you say is a bbw?

little house on the praire

Different people will tell you different things. Its how you see yourself. I still see my self as large but its ages since someone has called me bbw in messages they now all say curvy.

Personally if someone asked me outright what size bbw started at i would say size 18. But then you have to take height ect into the equation. A 5ft 10 woman at size 18 isnt going to look like a 5ft woman at size 18.

I'm 5 8 with fairly long legs and people say I "carry the weight well!" I just wondered what people thought the difference was.

In my personal opinion BBW is a nicer expression for someone who is overweight.

That's overweight in your GPs definition and not someone's hubby's eyes

As well as different people using the terms differently different body shapes can translate to the same size, one size 18 might look completely different to another size 18. Personally (male) I'd in general say 12 was curvy, maybe sometimes 14. Never really sure what to make of "bbw" - a lot of big ugly women use it!

Wow, didn't take ling for that gem to cine out did it haha

A lit of ugly thin people put that they are attractive on their profiles to but they don't tend to get called out about that lol

OP to me bbw is an easily identifiable way of letting visitors to my profile know I'm big (because apparently my pics aren't enough lol)

If you don't like the term dont use it, there is no set size for the term to be applied at. It's about how you feel x

Well like I say it obviously depends on individual shape but most 10's are slim I'd say, maybe some tall 12s?

size 18 and 5'8 isn't that big!

Everyone defines it differently, some people see them as interchangeable. Personally, you'd have to be a lot bigger before I'd consider you a BBW (and even then, it's not a very nice term). You're a beautiful woman with curves

I agree that it comes down to a person's opinion. I personally would see a size 10 as very slim, but I guess as a curvy lady and liking a curvier lady I see things differently.

*5'7"

BMI talks about overweight and underweight but not about slim/curvy. Her BMI is 23/24, as it happens, so slightly the heavier end of the healthy range.

To us being curvy has nothing to do with height or dress size, its more a question of going in and out in all the RIGHT places.

Think of the old screen goddesses, Taylor, Loren, Mansfield, Monroe, Lollobrigida etc.

To us its all about body composition not size.

I agree with that, curvy is someone with a healthy weight with curves in the right places - meaning a round bum and nice big boobs.

BBW for me is someone who is overweight. They may have curves too but are not what one would call a healthy size.

Beyonce is considered curvy, but I guess she's a size 8 or 10.

Exactly, having just pics of random body parts, cleavage, thigh and foot/feet in high heels but no full body pic always looks like a bit of deception to us.

Its as if the profile owner is trying to hide something and for the most part those type of pics are on BBW profiles.

So if your an overweight woman just put a full body pic on your profile, that way guys/women can decide if your what they're looking for and whether they see you as curvy or BBW.

I am curvy.

Curvy to me is a shape and not a size.

It is someone who has full round boobs, has a slimmer noticeable waist, and then bigger hips which flare out, and a rounded bottom.

An hourglass figure of 8 shape.

I am curvy. I have no interest of what others want to call me

i would say a size 18 is a BBW but then it depends on hight and how you carry your weight, some big ladies are still quite solid where as some are quite flabby

If a size 18 woman was tall and solid then more curvy if shes short and saggy then BBW

Depends on so many things

Size 18 is not curvy, it is to put it straight forward fat. A size 12 or 14 is curvy... So BBW is a more appropriate way of describing the statistics above.

I agree that many factors are involved and it's down to your own interpretations of size. I like curvy women but when I say curvy others might say BBW.

You need thick skin on here

Everyones different, if you asked 100 people what size a BBW starts from you will get several different answers cause what people see as big is subjective to them and what they like

However some people will put it polite so just call a spade a spade, some will do it just to get a reaction so best not to give them one

It's all down to the individual, I have had guys message me referring to me as BBW, not in a nasty way but I still find it very presumptuous of them to assume thats what I should be described as. I know I am fat , but I am not interested in meeting anyone who refers to me as a BBW. It may sound silly , but I have never liked the term so why should anyone assume otherwise.

The way you describe yourself is up to you, as long as you feel happy in your own skin.

At the hight and size you say you are I wouldn't say you were particularly big, whereas if you were shorter at the same dress size I would do. I can be described as big as I'm 6ft tall, but as a size 16 I'm not exactly large. If I were a size 12, at this hight I would be positively skinny.

So to state anyone over a size 12 is fat is nonsense, there's more to body shape than just a dress size.

SOME people will call a spade a spade which will come over as rude when really they're just straight talking

and
