Which do you prefer when clubbing? and if you take your owm alcohol do you take whats left home with you or just leave it behind?

Im not used to taking my own as the club we go to the most has a licensed bar so if we go anywhere else I have to check as I seem to always assume there will be a bar wherever we go

BYOB works well as it's usually cheaper and you can take exactly what you want/like

There is another aspect other than the cost effectiveness of BYOB

If you go to a licensed premises the Police are obliged to conduct regular checks on the premises (yes weights n measures too).

In a club like Chameleons and many others the Police have no "right of entry" unless they believe something illegal is taking place at that time, ie if they witness drugs being taken into the premises or recieve complaints with regard to drugs, noise etc. To enter without "just cause" they require a search warrant.

In licensed premises they not only can wander in for a look around at any time but are required to do frequently by Home Office rules, in search of underage drinkers etc.

Personally I am not so keen on the idea of Uniformed officers wanderin around when I am in the middle of playing, or anyone else like weights and measures, trading standards etc.

A word of caution though for those who haven't experienced BYOB, personally speaking when I pour myself a drink at a club (Vodka or Bacardi) I have a bad habit of pouring what would be a triple or quadruple measure, after 9 yrs clubbing I know what I do and I pour less drinks during the evening, but having worked at a number of swingers venues I have seen many a "newbie" trying to calm nerves have "one to many" thinking "but I only had 3 drinks all night"

I agree with that, its very easy to over pour your own drinks,I do it all the time at home,so I purposely did'nt take too much with me when we went to chams

Actually a lot of them do go, I know quite a few who are members of the clubs I go to although they do swap the blues and two's for towels and groups

But private members club or anywhere else if you have a bar licence they do have the right of entry if you were to be granted an alcohol licence at your home they would have right of entry without justifiable cause or a search warrant too.

The fire brigade often try to get into Chameleons for a nosey, the actuall fire advice and safety checks are carried out by appointment by a senior officer but its no unusual for an engine and 8 firemen to turn up trying to do a "fire check" they are turned away of course especially when they tried it on New Years Eve not so long ago, do you think all Police Officers would miss the opportunity to have a shufty round if they could

I don't drink when on a meet or playing so doesn't really make much difference to me, soft drinks aren't that much cheaper to buy out

The two clubs I've been to one was BYO and the other paid and I have to say was extremely reasonably priced xx xx
