Well it is fun to go commando as feels naughty. When I do wear undies it is usually tight micro fibre hipsters.

Work and normal days, I wear fitted boxers. May go commando if I have comfy jeans to wear, but some of mine chafe like a bastard.

For the gym, I have Lycra undershorts to avoid any ‘fallout’......

Always in soft lycra briefs. Whilst it may seem daring to go commando, last year in the UK I had to change into a suit in the Gents, because the BBC turned up. My employers head of press was with me in the loo helping me jump into my suit quickly and to run the cable microphone under my shirt.
