If they weren’t, surely they were considering it.... if the series was running today, I’m sure it would have got into the ‘plot’ at some point.

Oh yes most definitely that was the implication throughout - Margot the Dominatrix to Jerry brought in line by Tom and Jerry getting off shagging Barbara - hmmmm just wish they had done a nudist version - we love Good Life too - let's get naked and binge on it over some Proseco sometime

Margot (Penelope Keith) was hilarious in this although they were all good but her and Jerry (Paul Eddington) were my favourites. I always liked Richard Briers in ever decreasing circles he was a good actor and a really nice guy (unlike is character Tom in the good life lol)

Ever Decreasing Circles is possibly the darkest and most underrated sitcom the Beeb ever produced.

I'm pretty sure Tom, Gerry, and perhaps Barabara would have been game, especially after a few glasses of peapod wine. But Margot? No chance. By the time they'd explained it to her the moment would have passed and no one would ever mention it again.

The good life is actually set in Surbiton, Berrylands Estate close to Kingston upon Thames. The cast were all definately game for fun. I previously lived just outside the estate for a number of years - and there was a very hedonistic attitude to folks living there. If you were a member of the Surbiton Racket Club - the upper class click, then car keys at the ready and straight into the glass bowl for a little wife swap... and often the husbands weren't even aware! Plenty of friends on the estate were rather "active" with fellow Berryland residents
