Travelling for meets

What’s a realistic distance you would travel for a meet?

I personally wouldn’t travel out of my region (north east) because I don’t drive. However, I frequently get messages from people in London, northern Ireland even Plymouth saying they’re willing to travel hundreds of miles for a meet.

What’s your thoughts?

If you like them. Travel as long as you like. I remember going to gorgeous Inverness.

A holiday and fantastic company.

That’s quite a distance! As long as you had fun, just not sure a 6 hour round journey would be worth it for me

I live in London and I had a pretty regular meet in Manchester, I’d definitely do it again she was worth it

You win...end of thread

I'd be ok with a 400 mile round trip depending on the person and length of time of the meet. It's great to be able to make a weekend of things

As I don't do hotels or overnights I won't drive more than 45 mins.

I get messages from guys all over the country which is ridiculous and just proves that they haven't read my profile!

Yeah I feel the same way, I say on my profile that I’m not comfortable with people travelling long distances/ paying for accommodation to meet me however few take note

"What’s a realistic distance you would travel for a meet?"

I routinely make trips of two to four hours each way for meets. I don't drive either.

My most successful thread on this forum was asking for suggestions for ways to kill time on interminable train journeys. Hah.

I just laugh at those saying distance is not an issue. They back off very quickly when they look up the cost of the ferries and the timetable.

Really? Do you travel after speaking to them for a while? Do you go hoping for sex or are you ok with just the social aspect? Just interested because I think guys think differently to women.

This^^^^ I prefer to meet socially first. If they are more than half an hour's drive away it's simply too far on both parts.

Yes, really.

Yes, I travel after speaking to people for a while. Part of that conversation is setting reasonable expectations for the meet.

I have travelled as far as Manchester, Hull and Bristol for social meets.

I've travelled as far as London and Southend for sex.

Sometimes I question whether men think at all, to be honest.

I wouldn't want someone to travel too far to me especially for a social....or sex actually because I might get on with them on line but not face to face. So seems a bit of a risk for me

Not that it's happened yet, but I reckon I could cope with a couple of hours' travelling.

It helps that I like driving, but I do like to make progress so a two hour "easy" drive would be far preferable to 45 minutes crawling through a city centre

for private meets, i don't tend to venture very far.

however for those awesome club nights, i just can't help myself

1200 miles in 48 hours I think could be a record somewhere.

Oh so worth it for this greedy girl

I think this thread is highlighting one of the many downsides of the toxic patriarchy we live in: Dick is abundant and low value. For me, it ultimately comes down to travelling to where the interest is or going without.

One thing I’ve noticed is that all of the men on this site seem to work in my city now? Haha

I usually politely decline if someone is too far away and 90% they’ll say ‘oh but I work in your area!’

If there was a certain connection and she was gorgeous would travel the length of England

And treat her like a princess for the time you spend together. After all a lot of effort would of gone into it.

If I am travelling from home for a meet then I am happy to drive around 1 hour - plenty of sexy people within 1 hr ofDerby

But I am also lucky that I travel with my work so can also arrange meets when away which is a lovely use of time xx

No more than 45 mins. However I have travelled to a party as a couple over 100 miles but we knew everyone there so wasn’t going blind.

Also been to London for a social and will continue to do so.

If the place interests me in other ways it would not be a wasted journey.

Probably about 45 mins to an hour tops. We do like weekends away though so if we were chatting to someone we thought was definitely worth meeting we would consider making it into a break away. That's more likely for a couple though than a single man x

I agree with this. I am always clear up front that I expect a no-expectations social meet before anything else. So even if a guy claimed to be willing, I would not be comfortable having someone travel hundreds of miles just to meet socially for an hour or two.
