Bareback thread ban

Jump to newest

I think fabs should ban threads encouraging bareback.

Yes we are all adults free to make our own choices, but this site should not allow encouragemement or eroticising of disease spreading, because that is exactly what they do. If people did not bareback with strangers then STIs would no longer exist.

I think you're wrong but entitled to your opinion. I have no issues with people discussing things I'm not into. I'm a grown up and don't see the need for censorship of legal things on a site such as this.

And I think you're wrong about STDs not existing if people didn't bareback with strangers.

Apart from that, great thread!

Difficult. We don’t like bareback swinging and don’t do it, and don’t understand people who do, and get as exasperated as you do about the irresponsibility.

But we don’t like censorship either. And the exchange of ideas and knowledge about others in general in society is a good and precious thing in the age where governments, including our present one, is doing all it can to suppress free speech.

They'd also have to ban photos of it

Myself and my husband dont use condoms with each other. But if I wanted to upload a photo of us having sex or a video. That would have to be banned too. When between us its perfectly acceptable and fairly normal.

While I get your view point and do agree that with strangers it shouldn't be encouraged. It will just cause a bit of chaos working out the logistics. Saying some can but some can't.

Live and let live. At the end of the day if you know you use condoms and are safe, don't worry about the others.

"I dont bareback but it's not illegal and people should be allowed to do so If they choose "

As I said. Do what they want. Fab should not allow encouragement of it though.

They ban us posting meets atm, and rightly so, to stop the spread of a disease. Has it stopped those that want to do it anyway? Nope. However they acted responsible by not facilitating that. They should do the same for unsafe sex. People use bareback threads to find other barebackers, they are also allowed to post it in meets. This is irresponsible. Doctors, health clinics and anyone with common sense would be appalled at how easy it is to find others to share STIs with.

Ironically looking at the BB thread and choosing 6 profiles championing the practice all but one were not meeting due to CV 19.

Unprotected sex is a choice and as consenting adults they are free to make that choice and have every right to express their opinion.

It's a perfectly legal choice for any consenting adult, and a preference for some and not others. You don't have to like or conform to it but you've no right to censor those which do not share your opinions or beliefs.

Can we also ban self righteous users whom are close minded and fascist in the way the expect others to behave and the forum to be managed?

this

each to their own.

as others have voiced, just because its something i'm not into, doesn't mean i think those that are should be banned from a swinging site.

consenting adults can make their own choices with regard to a legal practise, let them get on with it.

If it was illegal as per statute this thread would be gone or going soon..

It's not and people have the right to discuss it and meet others also of that mind..

Perhaps ignoring the threads that you know your not interested in and concentrate on those you are is the way to go..?

Swinging is also not illegal but some would ban it..

I think it's far too subjective as most people don't use condoms when in a stable rship. So "barebackers" might just get to that point much quicker than the rest of us!!

But on a serious note, who would decide when the minimum amount of days or meets is before you're going bareback with that person becomes acceptable? Or is it only after a marriage ceremony?

***Not a bsrebacker BTW! I'm personally super risk averse in most ways lol***

I honestly think people should keep their noses out of other people's business.

I don't do bareback, I value my health and the health of the person I'm with. But what others do is not my business and nor is it anyone else's.

If all parties are consenting then crack on. There's plenty of things on here I wouldn't do. Dogging, flashing, 20 person gang bang..... But it's not my business so therefore I don't expect others to stop just because it doesn't suit me.

Why people feel the need to judge I'll never know.

We are all consenting adults and consenting adults will do as they please.

It shouldn’t be banned because some of us find it careless, no sex is risk free.

"

Firstly for any oral play, hygiene is of paramount importance, you can physically see it if a person has a oral or genital hygiene easily .

Secondly , HIV is not passed via mouth.

And yes if people using condoms for oral sex then it's good for them too.

If one has bleeding gums, injury where bodily fluids comes in contact with an infected persons fluids then there is a risk of acquiring the virus.

Bareback sex and bj are two different things .

You cannot physically see all disease.

You can catch HSV from oral even when the infected person isn’t going through an outbreak.

You can catch chlamydia, syphilis, & gonorrhoea through unprotected oral. Chlamydia risk is low, but it’s still a risk.

Unprotected oral is not risk free, just as bareback sex is not risk free. We are all taking a risk, some more than others.

HIV can be passed through oral sex (from NHS website btw).

And no you can't always tell whether someone has an std just by looking at their genitals.

So no, bj and bareback sex are not two different things, both are unsafe sex practice. Even with a condom on you're not 100% safe. So at this point you're trying to silence others for having different risk management to yours.

That's where the hygiene part I mentioned in my first paragraph.

You missed that .

STDs can be passed through oral and I am advocating condoms for oral use too if possible . But they are not life threatening .

But where does Fab draw a line? And how do you propose they do it?

You can't make statements like that without having some kind of MO to it.....

There are many practices that people post about on Fab...

If everyone aired their preference of content then nothing would get posted?

Not sure what you realistically expect Fab to do about it?

They provide a website, with rules... That everyone should abide by.

These people are adults, I would worry less about what others do and worry about you and how you can keep yourself and those you meet safe....

I had a msgfrom a cpl asking if I’d like to do a fuck and go meet - not really the mills and boon I’ve come on here looking for.... then said she wants it bareback because she wants the risk of pregnancy and loves the Feel of someone coming inside her - by this point I had them classed as mentally ill!! Disease notwithstanding - imagine if she did get pregnant... I’m all for people exercising their right whether it’s bareback or crapping on someones coffee table - if it’s consenting adults and its not illegal. I don’t think threads should be banned - but it does allow the rest of us to make informed decisions I guess.

Fab has banned lots of words, I am sure you have all tried to put something at some point and been told it is a banned word. So it would be quite easy to ban the discussion of it.

What about oral sex then? Do you use condoms and dental dams?

Firstly for any oral play, hygiene is of paramount importance, you can physically see it if a person has a oral or genital hygiene easily .

Secondly , HIV is not passed via mouth.

And yes if people using condoms for oral sex then it's good for them too.

If one has bleeding gums, injury where bodily fluids comes in contact with an infected persons fluids then there is a risk of acquiring the virus.

Bareback sex and bj are two different things .

HIV can be passed through oral sex (from NHS website btw).

And no you can't always tell whether someone has an std just by looking at their genitals.

So no, bj and bareback sex are not two different things, both are unsafe sex practice. Even with a condom on you're not 100% safe. So at this point you're trying to silence others for having different risk management to yours."

I never denied it , read my post again

HIV passes mainly through blood and bodily fluids (not saliva)

However if you have bleeding gums , rupture in mucus membrane in your mouth and you get in contact with semen from an HIV positive person then YES ,you can acquire the infection.

Oral hygiene is most important here

You can catch chlamydia, syphilis, & gonorrhoea through unprotected oral. Chlamydia risk is low, but it’s still a risk.

Chlamydia CAN be life threatening, it can cause damage to reproductive organs if left untreated, pretty sure it can cause ectopic pregnancies if left untreated also.

Should we ban all oral threads if they don't specially state they don't use a condom?

At least with people who enjoy it openly expressing they do, they don’t need to hide it.

I wouldn’t meet people who do it, my opinion and it’s up to them what they do but the open talking in the forums etc help me to see the people that actively do bareback so I know who to avoid.

If you ban such discussions, you can’t see who is doing it. And the only way to police it properly is have a Fab Approved Chaperone to observe the meet to check condoms are being used doesn’t sound fun does it?

Can we ban threads where the OP know full well they will cause drama resulting in someone being blocked or reported as people express their opinions. In a climate where be kind is encouraged it seems contradictory to post such a thread and then question people's common sense.

Surely the common sense thing to assume is that of course the website encourages both safe sex and kindness therefore does not need to explicitly enforce any further rules. If this was not their intention they would have called it ComegetHIV.com.

I hope everyone is enjoying there extra views and profile traffic from this thread, seems the only positive contribution from it I forsee getting lol.

You don't need to rebutt point by point.

Oral sex is not as lethal or dangerous as unprotected sex.

We have treatment for STDs and not for a full blown AIDS which could be prevented easily if you are practicing safe sex .

"I dont bareback but it's not illegal and people should be allowed to do so If they choose

What about oral sex then? Do you use condoms and dental dams?"

Oral sex just got a whole lot more interesting as well.

HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the United States. Of the more than 100 types of HPV, about 40 types can spread through direct sexual contact to genital areas, as well as the mouth and throat. Oral HPV is transmitted to the mouth by oral sex, or possibly in other ways. Many people are exposed to oral HPV in their life. About 10% of men and 3.6% of women have oral HPV, and oral HPV infection is more common with older age. Most people clear HPV within one to two years, but HPV infection persists in some people.

HPV can infect the mouth and throat and cause cancers of the oropharynx (back of the throat, including the base of the tongue and tonsils). This is called oropharyngeal cancer. HPV is thought to cause 70% of oropharyngeal cancers in the United States.

Can we also ban self righteous users whom are close minded and fascist in the way the expect others to behave and the forum to be managed?"

Jessica.

I've seen it all now with this thread. What else can we ban OP? How about swinging and sex clubs as they're immoral according to lots of vanilla people?

If people prefer BB sex then let them enjoy it. There are risks but when I leave the house today I'm taking a risk crossing a road, walking or driving across a user worked railway level crossing etc etc. Risks can be managed and minimised.

It's disingenuous to consenting adults on here to see posts like this. You don't like it, fair enough. But calling on fab to ban something which is perfectly legal is like being part of Nazi Germany.

"Depends how you go about bareback really to decide whether its risky or not. It's the way I enjoy having sex, and will continue to do so, also having maintained an impeccable clean testing regime. Medical professionals are the worst for the whole bareback thing in my opinion, they give you a quick look over and a sniff and say yeah you're fine and away they go

Because medical professionals know that people deliberately put their health at risks ,which put burden on them .

I kinda agree with you in a sense OP, I'll start by saying that I don't do bareback (BJ's or sex) and I avoid those that openly state they have BB sex.

I don't think fab should condone bareback sex, but there's a difference between condoning or encouraging and allowing a simple discussion.

I do think people should be allowed to discuss it because 1) those threads act as a great block list for those of us who aren't into that, and 2) it might inform someone who was previously unsure about whether they'd do it, and encourage them to use protection which can only be a good thing.

Is HIV still the more deadly disease? There are drugs that people with HIV can take and still live full lives. No such thing for coronovirus. But thats not the point.

The original point I was making is that fab shouldn't be dictating what people can say or not say, meet or not meet. Its upto the adult to do that. As long as its nothing illegal like involving children or animals then let them get on with it.

You clearly need to do your research... And is HIV the only STD you are bothered about? Are you ok catching one that a condom, close inspection and evidence of immaculate genital hygiene won't stop? I don't bb but I like to see who does, it's a good filter option... And if they are ok with it, they are grown ups... The same as you are and can choose to not have sex with strangers to protect yourself.

At what point do you think it is appropriate to ban things just cos you don't like it?

I don't like any aspect of anal, let's ban photos & any reference to it.

We are already policed in many aspects, especially now so the question would then become how policed do you want to be?

Do you want to ask approval from an external source before you meet? Or how about before you have sex?

Don't be silly.

Yes, in many ways It should be similar to their policy on covid. The site’s policy is pretty inconsistent on many things and borders on hypocrisy really. You can’t show water sports but you’re free to recklessly spread diseases lol.

Of course there are many who no doubt deny the existence of sti’s and it will likely be that they are a conspiracy by the new world order or something.

We all now bareback is far sexier and great fun but as you say it should not be encouraged in promiscuous recreational sex. So yes, a big lack of responsible behaviour from fab.

Whether you agree or not. It would be wrong to ban bareback and the topic from Fab. To debate something you need two sides to the argument so a measured choice can be made. Just insisting on only one side is a little tyranical and dictatorial.

FABWatch HQ

Divide and conquer.

If it is not illegal or portraying something illegal (even amongst consenting adults) then I would hope that Fab, of ALL the communities, would be accepting of it. Opinions are not facts, and suggesting regulations based around personal preferences is a common sign of intolerance. However this IS a forum for discussion, an Op puts it out to do that

Does it actually stimulate proper discussion? Possibly not. When people go "Add to block listHaha" and even some of those who defend it feel they have to say "..of course I don't do it" for fear of retribution.

Ironically the disease (STI, or otherwise) is the issue, not being bareback...

To be fair , I don't advocate ban but the other part of the post which is " shouldn't be encouraged "

We all love bareback sex but with only your life partner in a steady relationship and not with strangers to get the kink of it.

What OP wants to convey really is to generate a debate where we shouldn't be seen encouraging a practice which can be dangerous to people, their loved ones and the community.

We can only create awareness and not enforce it .

Continue to throw insults in my absence but I shall not be reading them."

Put up contentious post like you did you can expect some blowback. If you can't take the heat from it maybe you should keep your views to yourself??

I don't agree with your views but debate is often welcome. But when it comes to bb threads the views of the holy police are a tad extreme in my opinion. Let people enjoy what they enjoy.

Oh and for the record I didn't call you a Nazi personally. What I said you were proposing was comparable to Nazi Germany in creating a dictatorship on fab. There is a difference.

Enjoy the cool down as I assume you won't see my post .

Ivy, what you are suggesting here is unethical censorship based on personal opinion, rather than allowing those their (legal) freedom to conduct themselves as they wish with others that agree to conduct themselves the same way. Please understand the role of forced censorship in authoritarianism.

Everything in life is risk management. Safe swinging is also dangerous relative to monogamy, which is dangerous compared to abstinence. Oral carries risks, anal, going to clubs, gangbangs, meeting a stranger off here that might kill you with an axe.

I do agree with you that bareback carries greater risk, it shouldn't be endorsed as safe when it's not, and people should be educated of the risks. But to ban discussion is both unethical and actually illegal. As long as all parties involved understand and consent then it up to them.

Hiding it or lying about it is a different story.

The way people have gone on you would think I said to burn all barebackers at the stake lol.

I have read the good arguments, I can see from both sides from those who conducted themselfs a little better.

To be fair you didn't, you ranted and sounded really angry at anyone answering you.

I will go over the thread again and see if anyone insulted you or called you names as I may have missed it, but from what I did see, people answered you with their view, you just didn't like the answers, including my polite one

I bareback with people who want to do that, and I don't with people that don't want to. In the first case both parties have made their own decision on the risks. I mitigate the risk by having regular STI tests(my latest kit arrived in the post this morning).

If the OP doesn't want to contribute to threads featuring bareback (despite the hypocrisy of starting one in the first place!) then nobody will argue with that, but seeking to restrict free speech regarding an entirely legal activity (and indeed entirely necessary unless you advocate that the human race should die out) is going to far, and I would argue is a much more dangerous threat to society than talking about sex without a condom.

The site could help by including baraback as a search option (as is the case on FG) and also improving the search functionality by allowing the exclusion of profiles that feature a particular option.

"I dont bareback but it's not illegal and people should be allowed to do so If they choose

What about oral sex then? Do you use condoms and dental dams?

Again. It is not about stopping their choice, just about fabs being responsible in what it allows to be encouraged.

I will repeat this over and over till it is understood "

Are you also going to ban smokers as we all know how bad for your health that is...and what about all the 'hangover horn' posters as yet again, we all know the costs to our health from over indulging on the drink. Oh, and while we're on the subject of over indulging, why don't we kick off all the obese folks who are here as we all know the pressures they put on the NHS by being selfish and only thinking of themselves or maybe you just let people run their profiles as they see fit, say the things they want to say on the threads they want to post on and you use that as a filter instead. Live and let live has always worked well for me.

Havent read any positive benefits or bb sex till now .

Guess that sums it all

Banning would be cruel and far fetched but it shouldn't be encouraged either .

What I think is wrong is there isn’t a option button for people who want bareback it not our thing but just because people like bareback doesn’t mean that want to play bareback with everybody either. What Is hypocritical is that fab guys offers these options and fabswingers doesn’t!

I think there should be more options on your account/profile.

1 pitchforks

2 lantern

3 scythes

4 wheat flail

5 hedging blades

6 burning torches

Anymore?

Excellent post. I do agree a bareback option/interest would help parties on both sides of the debate to find or to avoid, and either is a valid choice. It's been suggested many times already, inc by me.
