After all the infections and deaths in Spain do we think that we will be confident to holiday in Spain this year or next year?

We might have a holiday in September.

Will it be safe? However having a holiday here is that less safe?

My parents live in Spain. Its if they allow us into the country. Talks that there could be restrictions into Spain until end of the year.. on Spanish TV.. Spain on there 3rd extended lockdown. Only construction allowed back atm.. Still not allowed out of there homes only to shop for essentials and only 1 person per household..

"We might have a holiday in September.

It might be, it might not?

but the one question is would you feel safer at home or abroad if the worst did happen? You need to think about that also?

I was due to go to Benidorm at the end of June. I'd only paid the deposit with the balance due on 25th of this month. I cancelled with Jet2 this evening as i don't know if there will be any flights then or what state of Lockdown Spain will be in.....and always the risk of no return flight and being stuck etc. Losing the deposit is a price worth paying for peace of mind.

I have a feeling that UK will be even worse than Spain. At least they had the intelligence to lock down quickly.

Never cancel if you don’t need to - let them cancel if for you and you get your money back if they cancel it. If you cancel you lose all monies paid and you don’t have a leg to stand on to get any money back.

I've heard from some of the docs at the hospital that their Spanish counterparts say things are really really bad there in the hospital but their numbers are now coming down. I wouldn't recommend anyone going to Spain for now not this year at least.

Given that the UK is very likely to exceed Spain in infections and deaths you'll probably be better off in Spain than the UK. Bearing that in mind the real question is whether Spain will want/allow you to go there.

We've a villa in Spain, so yes. The health service is excellent, and the authorities have taken a strict policy on contact, so probably safer there than in UK.

Similar here... we got a beach apartment there and we are devastated by the news there, even if here it’s also getting quite bad.

The controls and lockdown is much stricter there so likely to be safer there than at a crowded beach in UK this summer. However the real question is if they will allow anyone from UK to travel there. They need that for the economy as it’s their main industry but they also need to remain healthy and stop the deaths... so they are between a hard and a rock place!

Any ideas for holidays in the UK?

Spain’s economy is in a terrible state how will they survive without there tourist industry this summer ?

I think it would be better to travel within uk (when safe to do so) keep the money in country and get the economy going.

I’m sure the small towns would appreciate it.

Here, there and everywhere!

I have an apartment in Spain and have many friends over there. If Spain and also Greece don't get a summer season this year, brexit will look like a slight hiccup.

Hopefully by June we should start to see flights sgsin.

agree with you Spain will be in deep economic trouble without a summer season that’s why it will open up latest end of June

"After all the infections and deaths in Spain do we think that we will be confident to holiday in Spain this year or next year? "

You will no doubt find that there have been more deaths in the UK than Spain in less than two weeks' time, and certainly more cases. We are about 10 days ahead of the UK... deaths are around 400 a day at present and infections are well down
