"I would say weigh up the risk to you personally. If it seems too high for you then put this side of your life on hold for a while. Everyone's circumstances are different. You need to stay healthy to earn money, we need to stay healthy to care for my parents. In my opinion everyone has a responsibility to avoid spreading it to try and prevent vulnerable people from catching it." Totally agree! Read this Twitter thread by an icu doctor in Italy... https://twitter.com/jasonvanschoor/status/1237142891077697538?s=20 My youngest has reduced lung function so is at risk of needing respiratory support quicker than others...so its up to me to keep him safe from needing this as long as possible. I don't agree with the school advice to only self isolate if you've got cough etc after travel to an affected area... it assumes there is no transfer going on within communities already which is plain dumb. And now we're being told cases will peak in the uk in two weeks time which to me means all the transfer is going to be happening now! So im already keeping my son off school.

"We just met an Italian man with a nasty cough who had just come back from china. He also forget to put on a condom but on the plus side, he bought us some spare loo rol as a thanks!" How can you forget to put on a condom, it's either you want to put it on or not. You can never just forget lol. You need to seek immediate attention you have it after that interaction. Safe Sex and Safe Contact is clearly not on your agenda. Please dont attend parties

"Do you think sexual or social meets with other fab members are less now because of the fear of contracting the corona virus? Like to know (sensible) views on it and whether people stopped meeting people because of it. I'm self employed and rely on good health to pay the rent etc so this does worry me abit. " Im not attending until further notice. As for your self employed role, if you need good health to pay rent. I would stand by your reasoning. We all laugh and joke about it, but you just don't know who has it, I see everyone coughing and sneezing around not covering there mouth etc. I'm not surprise if more people don't have but just don't know if it's just a normal sneeze, or common flu. Protect yourself first hun.

"I woke up this morning to two messages cancelling their meets with me this week due to "corona virus". I did politely point out that I don't actually have the virus but they just said they were being careful right now. I'm still going to keep on going to clubs anyway but I have heard that in some clubs numbers are right down. " How do you actually know you don't have the virus? That's the whole point you are infectious with out knowing it and the number of known cases are doubling every day. Yes most of us are youngish and healthy, but we could be passing it onto those who aren't.....

"I’m just worried we won’t be able to go to clubs when the government clamp down on crowds gathering and travel restrictions. I’m hoping this doesn’t happen " Think that's the main objective.this virus is more about controlling people's behaviour rather than the virus itself

"Let’s just clear some things up. You are not more likely to catch an STD, the risk is lower but catching an STD as always depends on your level of behaviour, I.e using condoms etc. Coronavirus is very contagious more so than seasonal flu - however it at present isn’t as dangerous. More people last year alone died after contracting seasonal flu than have so far of coronavirus. Fundamentally the risk is that more people will have a “cold” due to the fact it spreads easier than the various strains of flu - which increases the risk of death only because of fact that anyone with underlying health issues contracting coronavirus or in fact the flu is more likely to suffer other complications. If the whole world caught it - yes the death toll would increase, but if the whole world caught seasonal flu the death toll would be higher. It’s simply that it spreads more easier than seasonal flu. So sensibly, but no different than any other time - people should be proactive about ensuring they wash hands etc to reduce the risk of spread of any virus - nobody wants a cold! A fab meet doesn’t increase your risk anymore unless if you didn’t meet people off fab you wouldn’t go out and meet or mix with people anyway. The check out girl in tescos handing you your change will give you the virus if she has it just as well as the person who puts there cock in your mouth. Fundamentally if they infected or you go to somewhere they have touched, sneezed on etc and they have the virus you are at risk. If everyone in a football stadium don’t have it - you will be totally safe. If one person you sit next to on the bus does you’ll likely catch it. My advice - is wash your hands regularly, carry on your life, follow advice if regions or places are highlighted at risk. If you get a cold get tested so you can ensure you don’t then spread it. But other wise carry on your normal life - swinging, working etc - until we know either the virus as mutated, or because you have underlying health issues - but as I say swinging isn’t the issue / general exposure full stop you need to then consider because should you catch it just the same as the flu the effects could be serious. I’d imagine anyone who already has health issues already takes extra precautions not to catch illness that could effect their health. But let’s be very clear - coronavirus presently is not actually as dangerous as the normal flu or many other virus you could catch - it’s just more likely we all might get it!!" Hurrah, some sense at last! Some facts! Some Science!

Coronavirus is much nastier than the flu, that's why the death rate is much higher. And last time I was at a swingers club there was more than enough contact to pass on something! You're just as likely to get it from your local supermarket as you are from a club.

Am sorry this is bonkers, you are trying to tell me that you are more likely to catch a highly contagious disease fully clothed in a supermarket than you are naked in a swingers club when bodily fluids are flying around all over the place, and cleaning up after the last occupants of a private room is hardly going to be a deep clean!! Just have a think for a second what you are saying!

Being naked doesn't change how quickly I'd catch the virus and you will come into contact with far more people in a supermarket than I would in a club. You'd also touch more items that had been touched by someone else, you're more likely to come into contact with someone who isn't washing their hands or isn't using tissues when coughing or sneezing. The sheer number of people that use supermarkets make it a haven for the virus to spread.

"So when you are at a club you are methodically showering and washing you face hands and body after every single interaction. Clearly I'm fighting a losing battle here, thankfully the government advisors have a grounding in science and epidemiology..good luck!" Are you still going to work? The supermarket? Using cash machines etc? The government advice is to wash your hands regularly and have drinks, especially hot drinks every 15 minutes to flush and viruses down into your stomach.

I'm not naked at work licking my bosses, so unless you are working in porn...... Most offices in central london are now making staff work from home on alternate days. The plan is to delay people from catching the virus rather than everyone all getting it at the same time.

" I am! And I can wash my hands, where a mask etc. In an orgy room you can easily come into physical contact with 20 people! You mean the masks that aren't very effective? I can wash my hands in a club. I don't go in the orgy room. Tell me again how I'm more at risk. I agree a mask isnt 100% effective because many don't wear them properly, but it's a lot more effective than kissing someone. Or giving them a blowjob or any form of oral sex!! Body fluids flying around? Really? Clubs aren't a cesspit of filth. "Agreed with the above. My sister lives in hong Kong and thinks we are all bonkers carrying on as we are. Schools have been shut down for months there. Its far more densely packed than the UK, far closer to the epicentre yet they've had far less cases. Dunno if they have shut the strip clubs in Wan Chai though....." I am completely prepared to self isolate if and when that becomes necessary, I do my main shopping monthly so I have plenty of food and necessities in the house. As I've said repeatedly in other threads, I will follow all advice given by the nhs and our government.

"Let’s flip this on its head. Look at Hong Kong. This has 7m inhabitants in the highest population density in the world, well, one of. It has a direct link to wuhan via train, and it has experience of infection thorough SARS. Hong Kong from day 1 took this threat seriously, large companies forced remote working. Schools and uni closed, moving to online working. People stopped social events, and keep indoors save for shopping. Hong Kong has circa 100 cases, and less than a handful of deaths. Why’s this relevant? Because it demonstrates that our culture has not taken this seriously. The compare against flu is relevant in that sadly more people die from that, but flu is far less effective terms of mortality rates. You probably do stand more chance of getting an Std, but that risk is acknowledged and this site wouldn’t exist if that risk wasn’t accepted. The real risk, is that you unwittingly pass on the virus to that elderly person in your family. Your asthmatic child or someone else. This virus has a higher propensity to cause pneumonia. That’s a truely horrible thing to catch even for a young person. Let alone someone who’s got health problems. Hand washing is vital, keeping distance is vital. Cold damp air hinders the transmission of airbourne viruses, it’s more dense and a cough will lead to it travelling a shorter distance. Warm air is less dense, and the virus will travel further Face masks are partially effective, more so to hinder you spreading Mathematically cases will accelerate now. So that event next week that seems no risk may not be so. Surely this boils down to measured risk, knowing who your meeting, and taking care. If you have loved ones that are more dependent do you really want to take that risk for sexual gratification....." The problem for HK is that they will have to keep up this regime until there are no more cases in the World or a vaccine is developed. The vast majority of HK people will have no resistance to the virus as they have been isolated from it. But in Italy lots of people will have it / get it and many will die in the susceptible groups. But those that get it will, hopefully, have an immunity to getting it again (I know there are conflicting reports on this) and therefore at some point Italy will have had about 70 to 80% infections which will hopefully give herd immunity which means that it should not reappear again in Italy. I'm guessing that our Gov and Scientists are expecting the above to happen in the UK and therefore using "Delay" to keep the peak infection times to a manageable level until the 70 to 80% rate of infections happens here.

"Corona Virus will be a serious issue in the UK unless drastic action is taken immediately. I run a business and we as of today are going into lock-down mode, working from home or alternating shifts in warehouse. Current estimates are that the proportion of those affected is 2-3 magnitudes greater than actual reported cases, with a death rate between 1-5% depending on how well contained and prepared a country is. Most of Western Europe is on the same trajectory as Italy, just a few (13 for UK) days behind. Would urge others to read this if Fabs allows me to post a link: https://medium.com/@tomaspueyo/coronavirus-act-today-or-people-will-die-f4d3d9cd99ca Stay safe everyone, and please do not underestimate this. xx" Yes, very wise. If more sheeple thought for themselves rather than relying on the nanny state to do the thinking for them, then they'd see the sense in opting to implement social distancing for themselves as a way of protecting themselves and others. There's no doubt this will spread but wouldn't you rather catch it at a time when there are hospital beds and ventilators to treat you should you need it? By tempering the rate of spread now, we reduce the pressure on our healthcare services so they don't end up having to 'let people go' There is really no way of knowing who has or hasn't been exposed. Im on a phased return at work and working in quite a bit of isolation but have been meeting my boss for regular reviews for the past 7 weeks or so. I only found out today he was at a ski resort in north Italy for a week at the end of Jan/ beginning of Feb. He didn't even self isolate. So while we can't control the complacency of others, we can and should think for ourselves. Don't be fooled into thinking reported numbers are an accurate reflection of actual infected individuals... many people who think they're infected can't even get through to nhs 111 to get sent for testing!

As a relatively healthy person a like to think I would cope and recover, however it’s the elderly family members that concern me. So I have to be so cautious about daily activities especially as I work in close contact with the members of the public on a basis.

"The advice is to stop non essential travel. In whose parallel universe is a sex meet essential? " I keep on asking myself this... And I keep on hearing “individuals have to weigh up the risks” But instead of using expert opinion to inform their decisions, they’re picking and choosing and falsely interpreting the facts so they can have the reality they want. The reality where they get to pretend like nothing is happening. It’s grim, but when the bodies start to appear, maybe the reality will sink in.

Upon entry every guest will be made to use hand sanitiser. We will have anti bac hand wash in each loo and hand gel in each room. Crew will wear gloves when tidying up. Disposable Cups will not be re-used. All door handles, flush handles etc will be regularly cleaned with anti bac wipes or bleach. Crew will be reminding all guests to wash their hands regularly. Alcohol based mouthwash (listerine/corsydol) will be provided as it can kill the virus whilst it’s still in your throat AND it gives you 50% protection against oral sti’s. IF the government rules that NO gatherings should go ahead then we will cancel. However, at the moment they’re advising to avoid gatherings of more than 500 people. If we are all careful and follow the hand washing guidelines why shouldn’t we still have fun " Bojo literally said yesterday to please avoid any pubs, clubs or large gatherings. Italy is on an almost martial law. Austria has banned groups of 5 or more. This is the way things are going across Europe. Also anti-bac, entirely pointless for a virus. Although saying that surfaces aren’t really the issue here. Moreso tons of people having tons of body contact. I find it alarming that this info has been about a little bit now but people keep finding ‘workarounds’ to not follow it. Like having a bit of sex on the weekend is fine because fuck everyone else’s frail relatives right? Sorry, starting to get to me a bit.

"This thread is rather a sad read to be honest ... take care of each other, social responsibility, & we wonder where humanity & decency are? Obviously not in many Yep. The various threads on this subject are great for reducing our “would like to meet” list." I think this too! Awesome filters ... and it is sad that there is no social responsibility! Sign of the changed times

"The advice is to stop non essential travel. In whose parallel universe is a sex meet essential? I keep on asking myself this... And I keep on hearing “individuals have to weigh up the risks” But instead of using expert opinion to inform their decisions, they’re picking and choosing and falsely interpreting the facts so they can have the reality they want. The reality where they get to pretend like nothing is happening. It’s grim, but when the bodies start to appear, maybe the reality will sink in." THIS, absolutely this.

"It isn't spread by sexual contact. Wish people would get their facts straight. No wonder everyone is panicking. " It's spread through any contact, the more intimate and prolonged the more likely it is to be spread.

All of those precautions are for nothing if, you know, someone with it breathes on someone else. But obviously that won’t happen. So you’ll definitely all be fine. And everyone else around you afterwards. Mr.

"I find it hard to believe that many of the 400 or so people that have the virus will be attending any sex clubs? " The problem is you are infectious before you have symptoms or feel unwell. I work front line nhs so will not be meeting more to protect others than myself.

"The virus IS spread through sexual contact.. you can carry the virus for 7 days without displaying symptoms.. I now know of four separate people who have it, I have not been in contact with any of them.. but it’s all coming on top very quickly.. It’s a real shame people are ignoring the advice.. it does go to prove what a selfish society it is we live in.. The virus has put a stop to our fun..I’m afraid we will all have to abstain till it’s over.. It isn't spread by sexual contact. Wish people would get their facts straight. No wonder everyone is panicking. " Is that a joke? Either you are scarily clueless or you are doing sex all wrong!!!

You are infectious for about 5 days before you show symptoms or feel unwell. If you can have sex while having no close contact with the other person you are the one doing it wrong!

"Everyone must do what they think is best for them. Just use your common sense and judgement we are all adults!. I personally wont be meeting anyone till this is all over, I have elderly parents I care for and I have lung condition so I am staying in. Just be safe and take care " Fair comment xxx

"I am not meeting at the moment. My main reason is I am working front line nhs in GP practice. I would never forgive myself if I passed it on to someone after picking it up from work simply for the sake of sex." Frontline staff here too! I’m on the fence for now!

"I find it hard to believe that many of the 400 or so people that have the virus will be attending any sex clubs? " I believe the current estimate is more like 50,000 in the U.K. and many don’t know and or are not showing any symptoms. I am quite relaxed about catching it personally BUT how many people could I infect Directly or indirectly before I realised and how many would die. I’d love to be meeting at the moment but IMHO I don’t think it’s the right thing to do for the wider population. Feel free to call me a wanker it’s becoming increasingly accurate. Stay safe folks

"Do you think sexual or social meets with other fab members are less now because of the fear of contracting the corona virus? Like to know (sensible) views on it and whether people stopped meeting people because of it. I'm self employed and rely on good health to pay the rent etc so this does worry me abit. " Yup, no meets til it's over
