I need costume/dressing up help and ideas please

Preston

I'm going to Sink the Pink with friends. It's a gay club night and people go all out with funky costumes.

The theme is 'Let's Get Physical'

One friend (gay man, fit) and I want to coordinate. But I'm lacking inspiration.

It's not fancy dress as in 'tonight Matthew I'm....' it's more like Ru Paul's drag race where you get a theme.

All inspiration gratefully received.

That theme just makes me think of 80s workout videos. Lots of tight outfits in very vibrant colours.

You have already hit the nail on the head, try and dress like a full on tranny, to much makeup ,impractical heels, walk like you have a set of balls and the biggest eye lashes imaginable x

But my friend won't do that and we need to be on theme .

Plus...I'd worry that people would think I was taking the piss out of them.

This is our fall back if we can't think of anything bonkers.

It feels a bit easy. People go all out amazing costumes.

Baseball outfits like Madonna in League of Our Own,

Roller skates a la Xanadu,

80s footballers - mullets are coming back in according to my hairdresser,

Doctors and Nurses,

Rich and Eddie from Bottom to take the theme to physical comedy if you really wanted to explain that all night.

Just watch the Olivia Newton-John video for inspiration!

80s workout gear, colourful lycra, sweatbands (head and wrist), pixie boots, gold lamé..

Neon make-up - this can be an accessible way for men to wear make-up too: solid stripes of colour across the cheeks for example.

Have fun with it and don't feel stressed, Sink the Pink is trashy and fun and all about feeling good!
