People will most likely say go to a club or a group social.

I didnt do either. Just posted regularly to the forums.

I find sending messages out a waste of time.

But in the forums you can have a laugh and joke and most people will know your personality before any messages are sent

It's only hard if you see it as being hard, and have the wrong expectations set - if you expect to get meets just because of the nature of the site then they're incorrectly set.

It's actually no different from the real world where you're not going to find everyone attractive, and nor will everyone find you attractive - in fact at a guess I'd say the number is lower than 5% either way.

So you have to find what works for you and set out your stall accordingly to do all you can to improve your chances of finding what you are looking for.

Finding the right approach, attitude and expectations towards the site is a good first step - coming up with a decent profile and set of pics is also worth putting effort into.

Think about what you are looking for, and the best way to find it and reflect that in your profile and messages.

If sending messages isn't working for you, think about other ways to get to know people and they you such as the forums or chat rooms, or group socials and clubs.

Think of it as "hard" though and you'll find it hard, it's not easy of course, but with the right attitude, expectations and approach it doesn't have to be hard either.
