"Depends on each council, the licensing law is on the side of the operator - allow but stop if the venue causes trouble (noise, parking, violence). You will need licensing for food, alcohol and entertainment. It depends on what you are trying to achieve. Some clubs are converted existing venues that just alter the already existing activity. Plenty of disused pubs etc on the market." You don't need licensing for food, if you don't serve food. Out of 6 UK club's I have visited only 2 did food. You don't need a drink a licence if people bring their own and you just serve soft drinks and mixers. This also means you won't get some guy with a clipboard showing up to check things regarding the licence. But the adult entertainment licence, or whatever it is, and planning permission/ change of use will be the tricky areas I would think. I suggest speaking to the owners of existing club's to research what's needed. Best of luck. | |||
