Cornwall STD clinics

Hi all, A heads up, the NHS clinics have stopped and it's now run by Brook. With new times and locations. The great new offer is a postal STD check. It comes in a discrete bag. Pee in a pot and collect 16 drops of blood, then post back. I got the results in 4 days. Discrete and quick. It's a win win.

But no counselling? Isn't counselling meant to be a large part of the work that NHS STD clinics undertake?

I think you get called in if they find anything as you'll need treatment, it's been around in lots of other parts of the country for quite a while and works well

Funding for that was cut years ago.

yup, all the consultants and most of the staff quit after transfer. there's no Truro site anymore but they say they will have one soon (no news yet).

it's a bit sad really as the HUB at RCHT was a brilliant space for that service.
