"We’ve never had an issue getting past reception, just act natural and as long as it’s not a traveloge etc you’ll normally be fine." What's the issue with Travelodges?

"We’ve never had an issue getting past reception, just act natural and as long as it’s not a traveloge etc you’ll normally be fine. What's the issue with Travelodges? " Why do people feel they have to sneak around and into hotels. Most hotels won't be bothered it is called discretion . Few could learn about it on here, anyway I digress. I would be very cautious about going straight to the room of someone you have never met. Would always seek to meet in a public place, bar or cafe. The case highlighted in the press TV about the student who met a guy off tinder. Your safety don't put yourself at risk. We meet in hotels primarily now you don't need to sneak around unless you have something to hide

"Funny how most guys say go straight to the room is there a reason they don't want to be seen in public? . If I was single female meeting I'd never go straight to the room of someone I'd never met. You are putting yourself into a situation that you have no control over- could say guys have you where they want you and maybe trapped in a situation you don't want to be in." How do you know they will behave in the room even if you meet them in the bar first? You still do not know the person! Do you go on your gut feeling or what? Have you ever turned them down in the bar?

Yes it is partly experience, partly gut feeling/intuition and yes have left in the pub/bar before now. A lot of guys especially if they have paid for hotel feel you owe them, your safety is paramount but more to the point you may just not click - no spark if you are in hotel room you have lost any kind if escape plan or safety net

We would never go straight to the room if you have not met before, that's crazy meet first in a safe place then decide what you want to do with your safety always first.. Or do what the others want and go straight to the room yes it might be fine but on the dark side you could get robbed or worse shuts the door and another 6 guys in the room waiting which happened on here!

I actually prefer meeting for a relaxing drink first. Some natural flirting coupled with nervous tension all adds to the occasion but I let the people I'm meeting decide how they want to meet as I'm happy with either.

"We’ve never had an issue getting past reception, just act natural and as long as it’s not a traveloge etc you’ll normally be fine. What's the issue with Travelodges? " They generally have a locked doors from reception that need a key card. Even if you go through the door in one I stayed in recently you couldn't even get to the stairs.

Some guys with entirely the wrong attitude want the easiest option, that being you deliver yourself to their door. Their focus is the sex but don't want to pay for a working girl to arrive. They don't have to be seen in public with you, nor partake is for example a drink or meal. That's dating in their misguided mind.

"Do whatever you are comfortable with. A nice guy should give you the option of meeting at the bar or going straight to the room! " I think it’s the ladies who should set the options

"OP you will usually find with budget hotels that they won’t ask many questions but please be aware that most hotels now when using the elevator you will need a key card. Also get the person your meeting to be waiting in the lounge/bar area for you. From a hotel receptionist" I wonder if you've ever checked me in...?

"If it were me I would arrange to meet in Bar so as to spend a bit of time getting to know the other party (s) . Seems a bit seedy waiting for a knock on the door, surely there's enough time to spend some of it flirting. On subsequent meetings then that's different I suppose and maybe some role play may be in order. But for safety sake surely the bar is the most natural place to meet up for the 1st time. Happy fabbing x"

"This is why i would never meet in a hotel.. look after yourselves girls and boys " so meet in a bar, make sure they are who the say they are. Have a drink or 2 (non alcoholic if you’re driving) that way you can walk away if you’re not happy. Have a trusted friend you can text meet location to. I’m a guy & I've done that.

"We met a lovely guy in the bar at a hotel. We’d previously met at AbFabs and had a great time until it was time to leave! Even though we’d met before it felt better to meet and chat, and then when we all felt comfortable we could go back to the bedroom. It made everything feel more relaxed and less forced " That's a very good point. It can be great to have a drink, break the ice so to speak. Unless you know the person you're meeting, turning up cold at a hotel door can be difficult.

"Definitely go straight to the room....... These hotels bars are expensive.not that expensive & that itself says a lot about a person " Really....... Well please pick up my next bar bill from the Mandarin Orient in Knightsbridge .... the next time I’m in London........ On side note I find drinking in the UK very expensive compared to the USA...... Beer , cider , lagers , and ale’s are comparable in price..... But cocktails are twice the money..... and you guys serve smaller portions..... I always buy my liquor at Duty Free and keep it in my room , when I travel to the UK.... So meeting in the room is a better option, plus you guys are a couple.... if he try’s anything , hubby is there to protect you...

It’s enjoyable to share a drink and a chat before retiring to enjoy each other in the bedroom. And there always something exciting about the walk to the bedroom. Always feels, well, naughty
