Think it's time to call it quits

I've been on here a while, updated my profile and pictures many times, so much that I lost count. I've sent lots of messages which are all polite and attached a picture on every one. Have not sent anything demanding or too forthcoming and also tried to add some banter as well. But the messages are all deleted as soon as they are read. This includes couples and women. I think I've accepted what other guys are going through and this site is just too difficult for a single guy, lack of veris probably also makes this harder. I'm not sure if its because I'm a guy or another reason that I keep getting messages deleted. Maybe it's time to accept there's no hope.. Sorry for the long message just a mid week rant.. ??

All you did was rant in a 'woe is me' kind of way. Rightly or wrongly, that doesn't gain much sympathy on here, especially if it's coming from a single guy.

If you'd asked for some constructive feedback, you might have received some. I believe it's a rule on here that profiles cannot be critiqued unless this has been requested.

If you want profile advice, you need to ask for it clearly or it can't be given. And wasn't it the point of your post, to say goodbye? As that's how I got it.

Hi OP,

You need thick skin on fab. I get how frustrating it can be for single guys....especially ones without veris in person.

Why not try one last time, and get yourself to a club to get verified? Alternatively, give us an example of a message you sent this week...

Many of us here struggling. Not all complaining about it.

When your title suggests you're leaving, and you then write a "woe is me" type comment ... what do you expect?

You didn't ask for constructive criticism it was a woe me thread and they never end well At the end of the day not everybody gets picked for the school football team.

Whilst you took some things on board did you do 2 of the most important things i.e join a club and attend socials?? Which in turn can lead to party invites, verifications thus making fab more visble?

Fab is just one part of a swingers toolbox and is not very effective for many people especially for single males but even for a couple like us if it's just used in isolation.

Thanks for the feedback, I wasn't aware you had to request a profile to be crtiqued. It was a last attempt to get some idea on what is wrong with my profile.

Exactly the same applies for us as a couple if we didn't also embrace clubs, socials and the wider scene and solely relied on fab we wouldn't be here anymore.

OP listen to this guy, also read his profile, the proofs in his verifications!

Attend a social or visit a club, Chat to people. Have absolutely no expectations just attend something and mingle. Don't ask people for veris if you're polite and people like your company they'll verify you as such. With maybe a positive observation about you

That'll help no end..

Think of fab as circulating in a massive party with thousands attending..

Make people aware you exist, be polite and chat, a bit like being in the pub..

From acorns.....

Good luck buddy

I think fab works best if you have zero expectations.

You have a much better profile than I do and I at least get replies to friendly messages.

I suffer the same fate as you though when I attempt to message ladies on the most fabbed picture list. You need way more XP for that

Welllcome to Faaaaab

This for some solo guys is more of a once in a blue moon situation..or in some cases, blood moon!

I've had 2 meets in the 2 years I've been here. The second turned into a FWB. Persistence is vital but not the pushy level.

I am always looking to talk with and get to know others but don't expect much. Ratio of guys to gals is staggering from what I can gather.

Just hide the profile take a break come back and just take it with a pinch of salt, for single guys you have to stand out and do things the right way. Send nice good messages, understand that not everyone will be interested. Be patient and nice, find a friend to go clubs with Or go yourself and make friends. It’s a case of just enjoying the lifestyle when it suits you and dont forget the real world and what means most in life, don’t get frustrated with fab it will happen think positive and maybe make some changes GOOD LUCK ENJOY!!

Sorry to hear you are having difficulty, but unfortunately the days of the personal ads in the back of adult magazine or here is my horny wife, I can't satisfy her help me out, went out with the goldfish bowl and fake BMW key rings, this site is like any relationship site it will take time and patience to work your way though the lady's or couples trust concerns.

Constructive criticism, try not to whinge, don’t send copy n pasted messages or dick pics, your profile is confusing you’ve ticked the can accommodate box but then in you description it says you can book a hotel ......... accommodating is having someone back to your place, we can all book a hotel so therefore everyone can accommodate it would be pointless having that box to tick!

I don’t care about height but you’re short that will put some women off and some may see not accommodating as married/attached, which is a big no no for some!

Good luck

. You are based in Woking If so can you travel if so you may want to check out the London forums as there is a social in the Croydon area. There is also a house / venue in the Sutton area that have various events which maybe of interest to you check out the meet and events page for Greater London to see what is on and where and when. Also whilst looking at your profile you are looking at a age range of 18 - 99 which I think you should adjust unless you are looking to meet a 99 year old I am sure it’s a over sight but some may feel you are a bit lazy by not adjusting it.Best of luck with what ever you decide to do.

Why don't we all get a big stick and totally beat the hell out of any confidence the OP has left?

Lets uplift people rather than tell them they are rubbish, too short, incapable of communicating in a specific way, etc. etc...

There are all kinds of people on fab, OP. Don't listen to anyone that says you are not good enough.

To be fair, if you were a woman asking for help and someone said you are not communicating, you are too curvy / skinny, your bum is too big /small, too short / tall, or your pictures are trash / too good, there would be uproar.

Fair is fair, people. And this is the female of the couple posting btw....

The advice re: going to clubs, socials etc. can be given freely, but any critiquing of a profile must, as I understand it, be explicitly requested.

Further up the thread he asks for constructive criticism, surely commenting on his profile has got to be more helpful that telling him he’s not a train or replying with bye ........ "

Yes, but that was after the initial responses. In any event, bar one or two unhelpful remarks, the OP has now had lots of constructive advice.

No it doesn't, as explained by Ruggers further up the thread."

Maybe he’s admin but surely then he wouldn’t be laughing ‘haha’ at the sh!tty comments!

"Are you asking why you're not getting replies?

Was hoping to get some constructive criticism.. but instead I get Bye and see you later

All you did was rant in a 'woe is me' kind of way. Rightly or wrongly, that doesn't gain much sympathy on here, especially if it's coming from a single guy.

If wasn’t after my response, it was before! What the unhelpful remarks you’re laughing at

That's fair enough if he's now asking for help, I went off the headline and it's a real bugbear of mine on Facebook where people say they're leaving a group but want people to beg them to stay

So I'll apologise if that's not what he wanted

Oh for goodness sake, the 'haha' was clearly about the dodgy cliental remark for Woking's Pizza Express (topical news story). Seriously!

You all seem ready to push him off the site. I haven't yet met this guy but we have been chatting on and off for ages. He is a really lovely guy and we need more guys like him on Fab. I am hoping to meet for a coffee soon and then he can get verified. That usually helps. X

"So sorry to hear you are leaving, be a real pity and a real shame, you seem lovely, you are hot, please don’t leave....,.

..... oh shoot I posted the standard response when a single lady says they are leaving..,.. "

Just seen this, it's made me chuckle! What a good point!

No nit-picking please

Unless someone specifically asks for their profile to be critiqued or if it's relevant to the thread e.g. someone is wondering why they're not having success, please don't critique their profile or be mean about it.

Good on you. Hope he has another go... Enjoy your coffee and your chat if you have it. A few months ago, a few people did this for us, that kept us on the site...

Ah OK fair enough, my mistake. Apologies. I've read on the forums so many times by so many people that you can't critique a profile without it being explicitly requested, that I assumed that was the only criteria.

As you can see, people get the rules wrong, a lot. Have a read of the rules yourself , it saves any bans

To the OP, don't be put off with some of the replies. You were very polite in your replies. Hopefully if you stick around you will have some luck soon, one lady has offered you a social

To the people who are obviously fed up with single men asking for help, avoid the thread instead of trying to humiliate the man as it really isn't pleasant
