Thanks for your comments, but I think it was a mistake to post it here. I thought I might get someone who could point me in the right direction and understands the lifestyle. It’s not something I am comfortable talking about in the vanilla world.

I totally understand that you want to keep the two worlds separate but any decent counsellor will not judge or make you feel uncomfortable, you also will have their complete professional confidence.

Do what is right for you though.

You can go to your gp and ask for a counciling referral for low moods, I was lucky be ause wheni went for counciling sessions I got one quick being my works have an occy health her ice on site being a MHSW (Mental health support worker)

All councillors are non biased and non judgemental.

But from past experience I'd highly recommend seeing your gp because not dealing with what ever the issue is could cause more damage down the line without realising it.

Councillors have heard it all before. Nothing you tell them is going to shock them. I really don't think they have to be 'in the scene'...

Without more info it’s hard to understand why you would want a grief counselling from someone who understood the scene, but there are counsellors who specialise in relationships, trauma and sex (supporting sex workers and the like). They will have dealt with extreme cases and as such there will be no judgements made against you OP.

That might be your first point of call

Mental health doesn’t get the attention it deserves here in Dubai. You can get all manner of things looked at and fixed that might not be able to elsewhere, but mental health they are useless. As for why someone on the scene; it’s a private matter. Thanks for all your input anyway; varying ends of the spectrum.

I got some great non- judgemental counselling from my GPs surgery and then again from My works occ health. They have heard it all and seen it all - being "in the scene will not help" - on the contrary, it may narrow their opinion when what you need is TOTALLY unencumbered unbiased counsel

Take a look at the Pink Therapy directory - "An online directory of therapists of all sexualities and gender identities who work with gender and sexual diversity clients from a non-judgmental standpoint." (Includes poly, swingers, kink, non-mono etc.)

GP is your best bet, if you don't want to speak to them try mind.org hopefully one or the other will help.

My one piece of advice is try not to bottle anything up.....its good to talk.

You are already on the right track in asking for advice.

In the UK there is Savannah who deal with sexual abuse counselling if this is appropriate. but all counsellors are trained to be non judgemental. I have spoken to a counsellor about bereavement and then talked about my swinging lifestyle in later sessions.

I would keep it separate from fab as it's such a horrible time and personal and you're very vulnerable

Seek professional advice and maybe give fab a break as the rejections might not be good if you're feeling low

You don't have to hire someone from Dubai. You can have phone or skype sessions with anyone in the world, so its worth looking for reputable companies online.

Well, it's been an incredibly tough week with the anniversary of my brothers passing coming and going. The support I have had from new friends and old has been amazing. Much has gone on that has made me reevaluate what relationships mean to me.

The journey has only begun, but thank you for being there for me.

You should be able to do a Google search for your local are hun. You've certainly done the right thing by reaching out to people and asking for help. Take care x

The MIND website and the CRUSE site are both good also.
