FabSwingers.com forum: What's the point of going to the effort of writing a profile?

OK fabbers, I'm a little miffed. Can someone please tell me, what's the point of writing out a profile and trying to put yourself out there, when no one bothers to actually veiw or read it?

I've sent out God knows how many messages to people, most of which are read/ignired/deleted instantly! OK, I've no issue if I'm not someones type. But how on earth can someone just make an assumption on you without even bothering to veiw and read your profile? It absolutely baffles me!

Most women look in stealth mode. Some others do as well. So you don't know if they've looked.

It is possible to enable a feature that lets you view a profile without the person knowing. That might be what's happening. We just viewed yours

You're literally 1 of a million guys on this site.

The odds will never be in your favor for a meet on this site. We get a dozen absolutely ridiculous messages every day and another dozen sincere. Half the time they all get ignored or blocked if they're really stupid.

Go to a club, get some verifications, get a circle of friends in the scene. Use fab as a way to keep up to date with friends/events. You're going to be massively disappointed if you use it for casual hookups.

We all have them. Not sure if you have read the faqs but a delete is a no thankyou. Also don't take a block to heart as it's used mainly so you don't cross paths again. It's frustrating I know but it does make more sense as it saves another unwanted message later down the line

Before you compose a message, check what they have on theirs. Do they want your type, your photo subject, your age etc

Think along the lines of ' they ignored my message, BUT, I ignored their profile'...

If you’re a woman, there’s no point, and about half of them don’t bother. “I am a 27-year-old woman and I’m looking to meet men.” “Fill in later.”

There’s also no point if you’re a man and access this site by computer. Women never have to bother browsing men’s profiles; they get too many messages. So just complete the “form” parts of your profile, and say something very short, like “See my message”, or whatever, as the text. Keep the full text part as a word processor file. When you want to contact someone, edit the text to aim it at your target, then copy and paste it to the message box. You can keep all of your pics private, too. Just attach the appropriate ones to your message. Remember everybody and his brother can see and copy anything on your profile, for free, at any time.

You only need to include comprehensive text on your profile if you access the site by phone. It will save all of the typing, and keep your messages short. But this makes life difficult if, like me, you’re looking for different, and possibly conflicting, things on this site. Women may reject you because part of what you’re looking for offends them in some way.

I will perhaps make dick pics a 'friends only'. And as for my 'arrogant' profile, can you please explain what you see wrong? I admit, I'm not great with words and struggle when it comes to writing profiles, some people are a natural and some aren't. I haven't purposely tried to be 'arrogant' I've only tried to point out what I like and what I am seeking. Isn't that the whole point of writing a profile??

That's a fair point. I'm not much of a photo person, hate taking photos of myself. And to be fair, I've seen a lot worse on other profiles! But perhaps I should update my photos at some point

I base it on lazy profile, or negative profile, equals lazy fuck or crappy meet. Single guys out number women, stands to reason you need a well thought out profile

It is worth making the effort with your profile. One of the women I have met through Fab has her profile hidden from single men but proactively seeks us, based on photos and a well written profile. OK it did take 2 years of waiting!
