Can anyone tell me what the codes are for swinging on a nudist beach, i know its something to do with sunhats etc etc but cant find any info, we often go to wildpear beach and have been approached but it would be nice to be in the loop and know what the codes/etiquette is.

We go to nudist beaches abroad (none close enough to where we live in Britain...and no weather!!)but dont know of any code/etiquette that there is.

We have our own way of indicating we are up for some fun but because most nudists are not swingers we have to be a little careful

No there is defo a code of such, we have heard it from a few different sources but never went to beaches then so didnt ask any further. it has something to do with windbreaks and hats on the corner being an invite for something and something else to do with baby oil, etc.

come on peeps someone must know lol

I've just returned from Cap d'Agde there didn't seem to be any secret code there!

Cap d'Agde is unique, there is an area of the beach little more than 100...200 yards wide where it all happens. Put on a good enough show and you will get a crowd of spectators and a round of applause.

However stay out of the dunes unless you believe you can outrun a policeman on horseback! Whether it is because the dunes are the French equivalent of a SSSI or whether they are discouraging gay activity is unclear.

lol its probably just us 'British' then, we did laugh while at the beach the other day as we noticed nobody moved it was like a mass lie in, where if you were abroad they would be playing volleyball, in the sea etc etc, but here ................. nothing lol

Think next time im there i will try start a volley ball game and see what the response is i can imagine it being no thanks were british dont you know!!!!

Good one to post this as i have had this discution on another forum somewhere else, but it is a bit of a hazy area that no one seems to know the signs, i regualy go to a naturist beach in sussex and you right everyone seems to plonk themselfs down and not mix or attempt to talk to others on the beach, i would say probably about one quarter of the people i see would have windbreaks and certainly never seen any sun hats pearched on top of them. I think as with lots of things people are just shy or apprehensive about approaching others, but the beaches are a great place to go and chill for an afternoon when its nice.

beach ettiquette.

1) don't name beaches.

2) cover up when families kayak onto the beach, especially with children.

3)especially at the beach you named (transending rule 1)which the people on said beach are notouriously bad at. poor form really.

4) consider other people when on a public beach that is not infact a nudist beach at all.

maybe you could answer a question.

why do naked men on nudist beaches walk around with their hands on their hips saying "MORNING" very loudly whilst thrusting their cocks in my face.

they wouldn't walk like that or speak to people in tesco's like that so why do they think it is appropriate on a beach

As far as I remember most naturists/organised naturist clubs are very much against swingers or any sort of sexual activity.

They firmly believe that nudity and sex have no connection and see the outdoor sex behaviour as providing the authorities with a good reason to close down naturist beaches.

We can understand them being against blatant sex but British ones seem to be against any form of sex, even in private, or swingers in general. We used to be members of British Naturism but left because they were such prudes.

In contrast, we stayed at Terre De Soleil swinger/naturist campsite near Cap D'Agde this summer. They had a play area in the woods close to the swimming pool with beds and tents, so if you met another couple and wanted to play you just went there together. People didn't have sex openly elsewhere, although the unisex showers seemed to be well used for casual one-on-ones, and of course lots of swinging took place in tents/caravans. Typical of the French to be realistic about nudity and sex - naked people are going to fancy eachother, so why not provide somewhere for them to have sex?

We know of one naturist campsite in UK that doesn't mind swingers, as long as play is kept to your own accommodation.

Funny you say that. I couldnt agree more and its the reason I'm no longer a member of a naturist club.

It was as if sex isnt part of anyone's lives and even mentioning it was very much frowned on. Prudish is exactly the word.

I enjoyed going to Holkham Beach for years and also was a member of a naturist club for a few years but they completely deny any connection between nudity and sex (see any naturist website at all).

Sounds like the French have a much more down to earth view of it all and are better off for it. But most if not all organised naturist clubs and bodies like BN want very little to do with swingers.

At least that is the impression I have always got.The line always trotted out is "it has nothing to do with sex."

The French certainly take a pragmatic approach to beach sex at Cap d'Agde. The beach is about 2Km long and there is a section about 200 metres wide where the swingers, voyeurs and exhibitionists congregate. There is plenty of circumstantial evidence that when 'les flics' patrol the beach they specifically avoid and ignore all activity in that particular area. In other words if you don't want to see beach sex then use the other 90% of the beach.

It's worth remembering that this advice doesn't apply during the French holiday month of August when the police presence on the beach is at its heaviest.

Since it's a naturist beach they obviously stand out (pardon the expression) when wandering around but any approach by them towards the circles which form to screen performing couples is usually heralded by much whistling from those who spot them.

I agree they'd probably rather not be having to control the activity on the 10% of the beach where it's more common but when faced with the ire of thousands of respectable middle class French families (maw, paw and the weans) they'll intervene.

This is sound advice. Most naturist beaches are just about tolerated by the locals on the basis that naturism is, when you get down to basics, a harmless lifestyle. Spoil that by introducing sex to the equation and the locals, and consequently the naturists, are going to get very pissed off at you very quickly and that's the sort of situation which attracts the attention of the cops.

and as a local person that uses one of the beaches we could do without this attention...

Also as a local person who uses i suspect the same beach, it is widely advertiesed on various naturist sites so naming them here makes no odds at all, in fact i only found out about the beach because of the NUFF website. And being propositioned can happen on ANY beach. Its a simple case of saying no and they will move on. ( if that is what you want)

It's not quite the same thing. A naturist beach advertised on a naturist site is one thing. A naturist beach advertised on a swingers site is quite another.

firstly can i clarify, i dont want a bloody shag on the beach, i initially asked if anyone knew what the 'codes' were so we were prepared for next time we are proposioned on the beach. Im a swinger yes, but i swing in the comfort of my own home, im also a nuturist who respects the boundaries that naturism entails, i am also a mother and would never dream of having sex on the beach or anywere that is frequented by children, so perhaps peope need to rereed this thread and find out when it went to shagging on beches when the simple initial question was!!!!! what are the codes used by swingers.

Are you sure there ARE codes? My instinct is that 'codes for swingers on naturist beaches' falls into the same category as 'brakelight and indicator codes for doggers' or 'handkerchief codes for gay men' - probably no more than tabloid mythology.

In all the times i have been to that beach i have only seen activity (or rather attempt of activity) on one occasion and that was when a ginger haired guy approached myself and a friend and asked if we were there for some fun, i promptly told him no and he moved on. But i have also been on other more crowded beaches and been propositioned by single guys ..................maybe i just look sad and in need of a good seeing too lol

Well Ive been going to Nudist beaches for ova 20 yrs..Always had fun,better than any swinging clubs.Loads of fun in the Dunes.Put a few shows on myself with a few guys,with lg coks.Dont know any signs or etiquette used.Try not to offend anyone by going in descrete places away from all to play?

In general there aren't codes, but the best advice is to watch what goes on and sense it. It's no different to "the real world" sometimes people are up for anything, on another day they just want to eat their lunch and read.

A certain nudist beach (that I won't name) in the north west of Wales, has had a police raid about a year ago as it has earned a reputation for gay stalkers and sex in the sand dunes. The sand dunes are supposed to be a nature reserve and not part of the naturist beach.

And several beaches in Lancashire have been closed down. Public tolerance is as good as it gets.

There is a naturist camp site near Peterborough that runs a swingers weekend, and euphoria in Yorkshire run kinky kamping events, but these tend to be single guy unfriendly events.
