Help! So had a very unwise late night meet with a young guy...regretted it the next day....but that's another story... now he's super keen for a repeat...I'm not but how do I let him down gently? Don't tell me to just block because that's mean... I would if he became a problem but so far has nothing but respectful....

It was a lot of fun but I like variance so I'm not saying never again but for right now I'm happy with the one night stand x

Does he use the forums?

If he does, you just did.

My advice is be honest. You can sugar coat it if you want but honesty is always the best approach.

Don't just block or ignore him because that would be like kicking a puppy.

Ween him off slowly by saying you are busy or traveling away for a holiday/work trip.

Eventually the messages will stop.

I'd prefer to hear this instead of fabricated excuses. Will add to the excitement rather than an insult through lies

This is what I'd want to read if I was in that situation. No mind games just a nice, honest response so I'd know exactly where I stood.

I'd probably say "one off" as opposed to "one night stand", but definitely this.

It's a soft let down with a positive to take away.

Don't give him false hope, as my guess is you wouldn't appreciate someone doing that to you.

Yes, better than fobbing off with lies. Don't block unless a last resort really

Let him down quick! No point keeping him hoping.

And sorry it was not what you hoped for.

Just be honest that you enjoyed the night but it was only a one off for you.

I agree with being honest with him, that you didn't feel enough chemistry for another round.

There’s being honest and there’s being honest

No one wants anyone to feel hurt

If I was you say that although you had the horny encounter, you would prefer to not meet anyone for a second time at present

Therefore he’s not going to have his ego damaged and you don’t have to feel trapped into another meet

This isnt a dating site. Some people want regular meets, some want the excitement of different people.

Just explain that you enjoyed meeting him but you are here to experience fun with different people and you're not looking for another meet but maybe paths will cross again in the future.

There is never any guarantee that meets with one person become a regular thing.

Tell him to fuck off. Block him. Post his photo in the local shops with the title “ Beware. Small cock.”

I think clear polite honesty is always the best way for everybody. But remember to make it clear that this is the end of the road. If he doesn't drop it and persists then you can quite legitimately block him.

When I (her) had a single profile and found myself in this situation I would contact the individual sooner rather than later, be honest and decent about it.

In my experience I never received a bad response back and was always happy to remain friendly through any messages.

In other words treat him as you would like to be treated.... with respect

Good luck OP

I agree with the sentiment of:

Thanks for last night. You're a decent guy but I'm not really up for another meet. If things change then I'll let you know otherwise good luck on here.

Personally I'd prefer to know that I wasn't being ignored and knew where I stood.

I think a gentle polite let down would be best, particularly if he is being respectful. It’s how I would want to be told. I think if you just ignore him he might persist.

I do know I wouldn't want to see it here first. I had a meet years ago that went south...It put me right off Fab when I saw her post about it (indirectly) in the forums.

Just get on with it and tell him.

As a man well used to rejection down the years, I'd say simple honesty is by far the best approach.
