Weight loss

I’ve lost a fair chunk of weight, slimmer of the week and month awards, blah. I’ll try not to weigh-loss brag. I’m still plus size 18+.

It appears to have ruffled a few feathers and I have lost a couple of admirers one of whom said “it’s like hugging a bag of bones now” and that was at a social!! Lord knows what his reaction would have been had I been butt naked!

I had qualms about losing weight and the reactions have confirmed my ‘fears’.

Surely my personal healthy choices trump their fetishisation of a certain body type?

As long as you are happy I don’t think you should worry about what others think. Some people are just really shallow.

I too have lost a lot of weight and most of the reactions are positive, but whatever size you are it’s YOUR body, so embrace and love yourself first and foremost. You can’t love anyone else well if you don’t look after yourself.

Anyone that has your best interests at heart would be happy you have lost weight, size 18 plus isn’t a bag of bones anyway ignore them they obviously haven’t a clue on how hard it is to lose weight

Most people, especially healthy-minded people, respect others and would wish them the best in their life, particularly putting the others' wellbeing above that of their narrowminded sexual satisfaction.

The comment from that guy is offensive and I find it abhorrent, as someone may have had a medical condition resulting directly or indirectly in weight loss.

As one door closes, another opens and is likely to be full of people with positive regards for you. I'd certainly be happy to get rid of a repulsive mindset in my circle of contacts.

There are of course a small number of people who would endanger others for their own ends. We're fortunate if they identify themselves to us.

Op ignore others they are jealous.

I lost 5 stone and got down to a healthy 9 stone a few years ago but apparently I looked ill and like a skeleton!

I've put the weight back on now due to a car accident and apparently I need to lose weight again!

I've learned you can't win so just be happy in yourself and your achievements and let the haters hate.

Miss s xx

It's about you and your health and your self esteem. New admirers of your perseverance and hard efforts will line up in no time. A true 'admirer' would not come up with such a negative line to rain on your personal success!

Well done on your weight loss. Anyone who doesn't think it's a great thing doesn't have your best interests at heart so their opinion shouldn't matter at all.

Gosh you have all been lovely.

I’ve been lucky because the weight loss has been pretty even all over.

I now have more energy which means, drumroll more fun (yes that is a euphemism) and I’ve also become a bit more Bendy which means more acrobatic fun.

So it’s a win win win

Definitely!

It's your life and your journey, whether it takes you up or down. It's not about them and they don't get a vote.

I wonder if the expression 'hugging a bag of bones' was a very clumsy compliment. Sort of encouragement but poorly judged. A little bit like 'take care in the shower - you might slip down the plug hole' etc.

"I wonder if the expression 'hugging a bag of bones' was a very clumsy compliment. Sort of encouragement but poorly judged. A little bit like 'take care in the shower - you might slip down the plug hole' etc. "

The tone of voice was dismissive and the facial expression a sneer.

I’m too committed to give up. Fingers crossed I’ll be at my target weight by November.

Best part is I’ll have an excuse to buy new undies

Awful behaviour, let it go, some people are intimidated by other people’s success, you’ve had success losing weight, good for you, hubby is trying to lose a bit of weight on a Vegan diet. Fat shaming, thin shaming and general body shaming goes on regularly on here, and losing weight means you’ll be healthier too

I think you hit the nail on the head with the word fetish. The men who disapprove of your weight loss obviously have a fetish for the larger sized lady.

Good on you for achieving the weight loss I know it wasn't easy.

I met a guy when I was a size 18 who thought I was sexy in part because I was a bigger lady.

He's seen me more recently at a 14/16 and visibly muscular (I'm a bit smaller now) and is still into me, despite no longer being a BBW.

He's a fantastic guy.

Male half here. OP - I love my ladies with curves, and yours are stunning! I would however never criticize anyone for making an effort to improve themselves.

Let's be honest we are all on here because we want to enjoy OURSELVES, we are not here to please others.

That bloke is of his bleedin rocker and you truly are better off pushing him out of your mind.

Well done on your weight loss. I lost quite a bit a few years ago I went from 12/14 down to 8/10. I lost weight as I was in a bad place mentally but found running helped me. We kept photos from old meets but updated our photos regularly. One guy we met was quite disappointed at my smaller size. It wasn't a great meet and I didn't talk to him after that. It annoyed me a little as I had worked hard and for once I felt more comfortable in myself but he is the only negative person I have come across and it's his problem not mine.

Aslong as your happy who cares what others think xx

My wife went from a size 18 to a size 14.I loved her the way she was and still love her now. I have supported her and helped her lose weight only on the condition she was doing it for her and not for anything else. I am proud of her and now she is even letting me take more photo's of her

I'm a size 18 with a flabby belly, big tits and an arse to match. I dont get complaints in the bedroom. I do, however, get the mother complaining (regularly) that I should lose weight. I would be lying if I said I was really body confident - but if I ever did lose weight it would be because I wanted to, not because anyone in my life wanted me to. And anyone trying to put that on me can fuck right off. Congratulations on doing something for you and for your loss so far - as for the guys who cribbed - their loss angel their loss xxxx

Struggled with feelings around body image a lot over the years and still do at times, even stuff like dysphoria which is no fun.

Something a friend told me last year really sticks in my mind these days, you're never going to be everybody's type but you're always somebody's. If you're loving the new you and feel better and more comfortable in yourself then keep it up, if others don't like that there's plenty more people around who will.

Put yourself and your health before us perverts and our lusts lol

Ooooohhhhh! I have lost some weight due to hyperactive thyroid (not complaining, I feel great!). Some people I am not even really acquainted with tell me I am not curvy. Well, maybe they want to go clothes shopping with me and see what size I can get my thighs and bum into.

Look on the bright side, you might have also picked up some admirers that make up for the ones you lost

In all seriousness, you’re doing it for you and if someone likes you, they’ll still like you if you’re a bit thinner or fatter.

Well done on the weight loss, some people find it really difficult and it’s an achievement to be proud of
