"It's revenge porn if they are naked or sexual pictures , if you make and complaint and the people doing it are convicted they could end up on the sex offenders register. X" I'm pretty sure that pictures posted publicly online by the person in them would not fall under revenge porn laws.

"Hey just wondering if anyone knows of the legal mumbo jumbo statement about Sydney university using pics etc has actually got any legal clout? The reason I ask is because someone who is on the site (I don’t know who) has taken screenshots of all of our public pictures and sent them to my ex and she is now sending them to every Tom, Dick and Harry. I have the police coming to see me soon, but just wondering if the following statements have any power By posting this profile I do not waive my rights to privacy under article 8.1 & 8.2 of the European Convention on Human Rights. No permission is granted or implied to any person, persons or entity(including Sydney University), to use, copy, reproduce or refer to any part of this Profile, for any use whatsoever both now or in the future. Use of any material will constitute privacy and IP enfringement, and will be met with invoice and/or legal action. To: Sydney University and all other institutions using this site or its associated sites for projects - You do not have permission from us to use any of our profile or pictures in any form or forum both current and future. If you have or do, it will be conusidered a violation of our privacy and will be subject to legal action." it would be too late posting it now lol but surely your ex posting pics of you and your present partner is probably illegal sue her for half the house ![]()

"No they don't, it's nonsense. There may be other avenues, but I'm not a lawyer, this is not legal advice, and getting legal advice on Fab is unwise. " what she said ..... from us both (in the job)

"Have a read here . . . Your pictures automatically have copyright coverage without you doing a thing. . https://www.gov.uk/intellectual-property-an-overview/protect-your-intellectual-property . You can ask any web service to pull down a picture of yours (you have to prove it's yours BTW) and they should do so quite quickly. It's simply not in their interest not to. However, the difficulty is finding where the pics have propogated too across the web. Cat X ![]() Whoops . . . 'To not Too'

"Quick search on gov.uk Revenge Porn is the sharing of private, sexual materials, either photos or videos, of another person, without their consent and with the purpose of causing embarrassment or distress The issue here would be 7th word, private. Publishing pictures on a free website that anyone can join would I assume immediately remove revenge porn as an option as the photos are no longer private. " However, under the terms and conditions you may have a case under individual property rights. But that would probably only apply to the person who took the pictures off the site, further distribution could be said to be without knowledge of the origin. The act covers the legality of ownership and permission of graphic sexual material and your right to post them. The term Revenge Porn just captured the general notion that 'lovers' or otherwise might use graphic sexual pictures of someone they know or do not know to embarass them or otherwise. But the act covers everyone known and not known to you. Reposting of pictures that you do not own on FAB could easily come under that same legislation. Just because someone is naked on the web gives you no right of possession to the pictures or any right to repost them. FAB isn't the Law but FAB's TOC means they have a right to remove you if you break the TOC.

Either way they would have a case but the revenge porn texted I used was straight from gov.uk not a tabloid interpretation.
