Making contact with people you know

Hello fellow Fabbers

Since being on here we have come across more than one (at least 5 actually) profiles from people we know in real life. Most we have no interest in contacting for one reason or another, However we have found some that we would be interested in saying hello to if nothing else.

Our question is should we? We know this is a bit of a blanket question as some people would not mind being recognised and others might be horrified by it.

Some of these profiles have clearly recognisable public face pictures and we are thinking these would not mind a message saying hello as they are clearly open about it, But some have not and if you did not know them personally you would not know it was them

Thoughts?

Think forward and if you are happy with all the possible outcomes good and bad of making yourself known do it. Just be sure to say who you are, it's very creepy if you receive a message from someone who claims to know you but doesn't identify themselves

I can only give my personal thoughts of course but it may help.

If a couple we got on well with worked out we were on here, even if neither had any particular desire for anything to happen between us, I think we would want them to tell us.

We have been open with a few people about some of the more adventurous things in our love life and they have been very accepting. It's good to have people with whom we can be open and non-judgemental.

I'm guessing that the people you are talking about are quite open about their activities so that would make us much more comfortable letting them know we are in this community.

This is kind of how we feel it would be nice to talk to others if nothing else when we already know them, We are very much into the social side of things so would be nice to already have friends we can open up about this too. Only thing stopping us is we would not want to make them feel uncomfortable

Your all on here for the same reason if they don't want to know they will probably block you, then just move on.

I just block them, you never know. People get over friendly and step into my private space. Known peeps to put stuff on FB, so wouldn't risk even a hello.

Most of our closest friends know anyway so wouldn't bother us. I had a couple old work colleagues get in touch and say hi (we don't work together now haven't for a few years)
