It's all a bit pathetic and a disgusting invasion of privacy.

From the same people who brought you unbridled outrage over pictures of Kate Middleton sunbathing topless being published in a French magazine

I was just thinking those photos look familiar from an article I've read before.

Was almost going this year and did read they had anti drone tech. Signal blockers of some kind.

Hope the weather keeps up for them.

Yes but not sure if they are old ones. Most appear to be of the site being set up and the surrounding areas

They have done with the Mail previously, that way they control the article content.

Photos have obscured faces. It was the Sun three years ago that got in and didn’t obscure faces; caused a lot of problems for individuals who found themselves suddenly tabloid famous. And, yes, some got compensation eventually.

Today’s news will be yesterday’s chip paper, but it can cause problems for people who have had to hide the lifestyle from nearest and dearest or employers.

Once again this holds no surprise to me. The organisers know only too well that the event attracts the attention of the press and I would appear that the press have been allowed access once again, I guess the saying that there is no such thing as bad advertising must be true. Hopefully there won't be a repeat of people losing there jobs which happened a couple of years ago. Honestly I wouldn't go anywhere near this event.

Ok we were there and saw the photographer... He wasn't escorted around!... far from it

The guy was at the edge of the field on a public right of way... the security were brilliant and drove 2 vehicles up to block his view... he took a few quick pics with a telephoto lens before walking off...

They also sent a drone up and got a few pics that looked like last years...

All this happened on Thursday about 2hrs in from the start.

The security were fantastic again and stopped many potential breaches...

As for local outrage... obviously they found a couple of shocked pensioners.

The reality is that security had to turn locals away who wanted to buy tickets..

We have just booked again for next year

Great weekend

Inside job then. Perhaps the organisers agreed to it. - that was not a question.... it was a statement that is simply wrong, so no we welcome questions, but at the same time do NOT welcome accusations from those who don't attend. As a community we should all work TOGETHER, there is enough bigotry and vile comments OUTSIDE the lifestyle, we don't need enemies within

It states in the one article they were shown about and allowed on site hence why people have said about organisers agreeing to it.

Personally I can't see why the press are so interested. Not like anyone was going anything illegal. Bloody sad on the presses behalf! Surely there are other things more worthy of reporting. Not articles from Glasto or any other festival where they have orgies and go knows what!

According to a few posts in this thread the organisers *did* invite the press into the event. So my comment about the organisers agreeing to it was correct.

Many swinging clubs have invited the press in to have a look round and done interviews so that the journalist will write an article about it. The articles in recent months have been positive, and giving more information to dispel myths about swinging.

I don't understand why you infer my question was similar to the "bigotry and vile comments" from non-swingers. What I said has been confirmed as true.

I thought perhaps the event organisers wanted the press to better understand the event and therefore do a more realistic article.

Your attitude however tells me otherwise.

"Our group had quite a long chat with the organisers when they came around asking if everyone was enjoying themselves etc , they indeed mentioned and went into detail about who , when and on what terms they had invited people to view the site, we won't mention anything just that nothing they said worried any of us because they'd done it the correct way .

Thankyou guys

This is a bit confusing now so I can understand why others are confused, this sounds like you did let people in with conditions"

But that comment wasn’t from the ORGANISERS ??!! - WE DIDNT ? Surely that’s now clear ....?

Our aim is always to do this in the most professional way possible, we don't expect everybody will want to come, but we would love to see that the nasty comments are only from those OUTSIDE the community who don't understand , or if somebody isn't sure then message us rather than speculate or worse still believe the gutter press ! , anyhow, the reviews in the CLUB section say all we need to say, thankyou for coming and sharing a great weekend xxx"

The organisers are denying that they invited people to view the site. "

Think if you read our post Correctly we didn't mention which organisations or officials were invited nor at what point .There is enough fishing for information in all sections. As was stated throughout the event by the organisers " if you have any questions ask us " we did and got all the facts from the horses mouth. Not Chinese whispers or tomorrow's chip shop news .

Most clubs I've been to ban phones and cameras. Xtasia take your phone off you at the door! "

"Ok we were there and saw the photographer...

"

Absofuckinglutly The security were fantastic. Booked again for next year to be honest if all the press can come up with is old pics and the opinion of some old dear who has an objection of peoples size then quite frankly there is nothing to be bothered about.... no fear ...no harm live n let live

Security were brilliant and the lads we chatted with were so geared up for catching press! There is no way the press were allowed in! There’s always a risk, but the organisers did as much as they realistically could!

We’ve already booked for next year

There and to the left a bit

I read the article on the Daily Fail site earlier and it was bloody hilarious fluff and nonsense mostly padded out with explanations of various swinging terms (Hotwife, Bull, full swap, soft swap) and obviously written by someone who had probably been nowhere near the event.

Add to that a series of pictures that were mystifying at best (a picture of the local chapel with no reference to it at all anywhere in the text, another of a white van that apparently had left the site in which they made reference not once, but twice to the fact the male driver was topless!!).

Add in a couple of quotes from local elderly residents that didn't really know anything and it all just added up to a ridiculous article.

Maybe it would be worth inviting a journalist from a decent publisher in next year, before guests arrive. Let them take photos of the site set up, do an interview that gives them facts, let’s them see what the event is about, without getting any guests involved.

Good publicity for swinging is a good thing and it takes the sensationalism out of the gutter press, because you’ve been open & up front.

It’s been quite successful for several clubs now, taking this approach.

Just a thought!

Its a joke Xtasia taking your phone off you and putting in an unlocked cupboard in the passageway. If someone wants to take pics tiny button sized hidden camera or now folk have camera built into their smart watch. We always leave phone locked in our locker all safe when we visit clubs. If the press want in, they will go as a punter like the rest of us and do what they need to do to get a story. At least now since press have to abide by strict privacy rules faces will not be on show in their pictures.

Gutter press would come in and twist the story for click bait to sell more. The local rag did a nice article and promoted how much was raised for the air ambulance.

If anyone is invited to do a feature it should be them or an LGBT friendly magazine... actually bring in Holly Willoby & Phil... we can do a live show lol

Exactly that. At no point were the press invited in to the festival. None of the organisers engaged with the press at any time. Most of the pictures published were from previous years. There was one picture from this year and it was taken by a high spec drone from quite a distance. There is no fool proof way of dealing with those people who are ignorant of the lifestyle. All those who have negative things to say, just bear a thought to those that work hard to provide an event that is unique, fun and safe. We all do our upmost to provide our customers with a brilliant experience and judging by the reviews, most people experienced this. We will be returning xxx
