Imagine the scenario, you write a message to someone who catches your attention. Quietly think to yourself how many other people have messaged this person or couple?

There are litterally 1000s and 1000s of men on here. Some people must get hundreds of messages a day.

It's impossible if you lead a 'life' outside of fab to reply to all messages.

I recently had a message back from a couple who had literally received over 2000 messages in two weeks, they ed them down to one's worth a reply, mine was quite a long paragraph, very polite but still a 'no'.

I never expect a reply, that's life, and certainly fab life!

Spend a week replying to all the spam in your email inbox and do the same with every flyer or piece of junk mail that comes through your letterbox. Lots of other threads on this subject, try reading them, the answers are all out there. Since I've stopped answering messages that I'm not interested in or the ones that have blatantly ignored my profile I'm happy to report the level of abuse has dropped dramatically. By not answering it also doesn't allow then to start asking why not or trying to change my mind.

The main reasons I don't respond to messages are if they clearly haven't read the profile, if they have no pics or if the message is a one liner...or worse still..a one worder!!

Lots meet here. You've only been here 5 weeks, have some patience. It isn't compulsory for people to meet on here either.

I never knew that

I feel a lot better now about deleting. Sometimes it just has to be done without a reply and when someone hasnt really taken time to write anything meaningful other that ‘hi hows you’ its easier to do

You haven't asked for profile advice so I won't give it. However I will point out that you have only ever posted in the forum once before, in Jun 2017, and that post asked for advice. Did you follow it?

I only really message people from the forums that I know. On the odd occasion I have messaged someone I delete the sent message so I have no idea if it’s been read or deleted.

Honestly mate, don't take it personally. Some, probably most, women get a stupid amount of messages. Take a deleted message as a "no thanks", nothing more, nothing less.

Some good advice I've seen on the forums before is to send your message, then delete. If you don't know if it's even been read or not, you won't stress about it.

1. Some people get an abundance of messages. It takes time to respond to them all.

2. I've never yet had someone accept a rejection without trying to change my mind or get nasty about it.

I understand the disappointment, especially when you've made an effort and taken your time. But time is precious to many and people want an easy life free of being caught up with people their not interested in. Just because you send someone an unsolicited message they do not owe you anything in return. People are here to concentrate on their own desires. So yes it feels shitty but it's understandable and totally OK when you think about it. Personally they don't reply/just delete that's OK with me. I don't want to waste any more of anyone's time or my own on an ultimately fruitless endeavour.

I love the fact the title of this thread is ignorance; the irony that it was intended to mean women are rude, but the alternative meaning of the word is someone lacking awareness

Say it takes you 2 minutes to see a profile and type out a half decent message to them. And 100 other men have done the same thing to the same woman since she last went through her messages. Is she supposed to spent 200 minutes a day reading her messages, checking each profile and typing out a polite rebuttal for every individual, alongside the time spent conversing with those she is actually interested in?

Personally there is a long list of things, and people, I would rather spent those 200 mins doing!
