Of of general curiosity. What do you ladies find as a great opening message. Obviously no one wants the hey how are you but sometimes it’s hard based of profiles. Examples?

OP if their profile isn't giving you enough information to create and interesting first message then don't bother sending one.

Lots of single ladies and couples complain that men don't make an effort when messaging or writing their profile but they are guilty of doing just the same. How can anyone be expected to craft a well thought out, personal message if you don't give them anything to go on.

There are plenty of couples and single ladies who have made an effort to write their profile so just focus your efforts on them, after all conversation is a two way thing.

I guess an idea of what you like about their profile - with a view to understanding why we might be compatible. A good idea of what you’re looking for is helpful too.

My pet hates are the long sexual stories and as you’ve said the crap hi, wuu2 or how are you.

Hello OP,

There is no magic formulae, you'll just have to read their profile and find something worth talking about. As said above, if they haven't left enough on their profile for you to work with, move on.

Oddly enough I see many very minimal profiles that have no pics apart from friends-only, maybe a line of text tops, but a lot of recent veris so obviously that works for some people?

Agree with this, should be something on a profile to give you an opening message. Can’t be doing with the help me out with a fantasy message that’s probably been sent to half of Fab lol or the do you like younger message..really sometimes younger isn’t always better

Great comment. If you can't make an effort why do you expect others to do all the work for you?

Well. Just got one that says “hey”. Doesn’t quiet cut it. And a 2 line profile and only private pics. Surprised we looked at profile but did wonder who would open with that.

Ms C likes to hear Atleast a short intro and some sign of reading our profile ( not that it says much but enough ).

A funny random question usually has me responding before I have even thought about it

We like something that gives off some sense of the guy's personality. And something that feels like there's at least a little effort gone in to personalise it to us. Otherwise they kinda get lost in a sea of three word greetings and "I wanna fuck you and cum on your tits".

Messages that stand out for me are from men who have put thought into their message and have clearly read my profile so tailor the message towards me rather than the generic hey how's you sexy? Do you want to meet and fuck now etc. I usually just ignore those ones.

A while ago I messaged a woman who had sent me a wink. She then replied "fuck me your profile's longer than war an peace" and then blocked me.

People are never happy lol

Come to think of it she didn't mention War and Peace but it would have been funnier if she had.

Manchester (she/her)

One that is neither timid nor graphic, that refers to my profile in a way that I can tell is my profile (so "hot pics" could be anyone), tells me why I'm interesting to them and why they might be interesting to me.

Yours at least would have given me plenty to work with, but I vape. Ho hum.

Yeah, it kills me, because I took quite a lot of time writing a profile with plenty of stuff for someone to use when messaging me.

But thank you for respecting me on that. So many think "I won't smoke/ vape around you" is enough. Its not.

Actually, I've basically stopped. I lost my vape a couple of weeks ago and haven't bothered to replace it yet and may well never if I carry on not missing it and don't have a smoking relapse.

My profile is minimal now I have an established network of friends. I use fab to keep up with them rather than find new meets. Most new people I meet these days are friends of friends or in clubs and that's why my profile is as you describe. Minimal is to discourage further messages.

"Fuck me, your profile's long" then blocked. Yeah. Odd.
