Can anyone offer me some advice on how to organise a party on here. Espesialy on the marketing side. Looking to arrange one in leeds or harrogate.

Very hard for a single guy unless you are well known and have pots of contacts who will veri you and spread the word.

As for marketing...im not a fan of any charge other than to cover costs if u provide food,hot tub ect/

Not easy but possible.

To add an organised party event on here you have to have a few veri's.

I advertised them a few times on my past visit to the site.

Takes a LOT of time - people do like parties but many will require 2 weeks notice where as others prefer a more spontaneous.

Couples have enough problems matching themselves with another and no offence you may not make it any easier for them.

Be prepared to talk a lot to people and to be disappointed perhaps if it falls through.

Certainly worth it if it works out though and many would do so again.

People continually say get to socials and clubs on here which I find a bit annoying to be honest as;

I'm rarely free on fridays but pretty much always on saturdays (it makes a difference)

I've not seen a local social with people listed going whom I would like to meet (but I may be proved wrong one day)

Although I would go to a club,I prefer more private meets at home and can do so at home,may be a party too.

You'll probably have more luck and success with arranging a film night with a few refreshments/food on a 'social' basis and once people have a had few drinks and relaxed who knows ... or may be the following will be playful.

Ps when I last looked into this and spent lots of time on it there were a lot already happening in your area and may be you could get invited to one ?

There's aleady at least two guys who arrange parties/mmfs in Leeds, plus a couple of clubs so I suspect you'd struggle, especially as you would be more successful with a large base of friends to draw from.

Organising a group meet or social is one of the most frustrating thing evere. It's a balancing act as to when to start organising, as some need to know early to arrange babysitters and hotels etc, while some won't let you know til the night before. You have to sort out the couples and single women before you can work out how many single men to invite (if you're inviting them. If you're not, bear in mind you'll be restricting fun for the single ladies). And it doesn't matter how many people say they will be there, most of them won't turn up. Very frustrating.

We arranged a party a couple of months ago, and believe me it was a struggle. We had 1 couple confirm before the event and we had it down to a 5some as we had 1 single guy invited. Then we had a last flurry of interest on the night beore and the day of the event and ended up with 12 people in all. It ended up a success but believe me it was very stressful!.. and we are a couple!, we didn't charge and we laid on food!

We've always allowed for only 70% of those who say they are going to actually turn up.

With the guys theres usually the 'list' but then a reserve list, and to be honest in the end we just give the details to all of them as 90% of them wont turn up! Once we had every single guy who put his name down fail to make an appearance

And we dont charge, nor do we provide things like food.
