If you are using IE, try using Firefox instead.

Sometimes when it is authenticating it sits there for a few minutes.

Do you get as far as the authenticating page?

Yes - you need to put the user name inside pointy btackets (not these type of brackets) then add the message

I cant show you the pointy brackets to which I refer because they are HTML characters and the forum rejects them but they are at the bottom of the keyboard above the full stop loll
