Couples: Advice/Tips Needed

I'm interested in how couples in long term relationships keep their sex life on the boil.

Do you have any special tips or tricks?

Whenever I read articles about "spicing up your sex life" I find the advice a bit depressing and obvious so perhaps seeing what real couples do is more helpful!

Thanks!

It’s no trick.

Unconditional Love, honesty, respect and partnership keep things alive.

Scunthorpe

We have been together 19 years.

I think the trick is not to let ths relationship go stale, make time for each other, don't take each other for granted and be open to trying new things.

It works for us anyway.

Try new stuff is all I can say.

It isn't possible to keep any sex life on a constant boil.

We have been married 35 years

Keeping sex alive is easy just try to make love and not just fuck

And always try to add a little kink into the play xxxx

Nearly 30 years together and we are still friends as well as lovers and enjoy doing things together, be that sitting in the garden with a glass of wine or a DP

I was in a ten year + relationship and didn't really need anything to keep us going. I pretty much always came and so did he and we just wanted that.

So many profiles describe how they are swinging to “spice up” their sex life or even some say it’s to save their relationship.

In our opinion swinging should compliment your sex life and relationship, not define it.

Spot on. Any couples on here who don’t already have a great sex life, it probably won’t turn out well. So many couples swinging every weekend and in the week too, then are no longer on site.

I don't think doing something to spice up your sex life is defining it. Years ago we bought toys to spice things up but it didn't define our sex life.

As far as saving a relationship goes, I don't think any form of sex can do that but surely it's worth a try.

Agreed - but to rely on swinging to spice it up without the right mindset and understanding is naive at the very least.

Besides swinging as a sex aid and introducing toys as a sex aid bring entirely different connotations to sex and a relationship.

13 years together here. We just try and make life nice for each other. Compliments, helping out, taking an interest in each other's hobbies, date nights, breakfast together. Communication always. We get up in the morning and make it our goal to make each other smile.
