First Social

So after circling it for a long time, we're taking our first tentative steps into making things happen with a social meet early next month.

We're not sure what to expect, really. Obviously it'll be drinks and chat, but what's the vibe generally like at socials? Is it flirty, or more like a gathering of people sharing an interest? Bit of both? Will Mrs A get hit on all evening? Are there etiquettes we should be aware of? So many questions!

And any advice for making the most of a social beyond just...well...being social?

If its an organised social held in a public place it's not much different to a night in a pub really. There will be flirting but guys hitting on a woman with a partner is unusual.

Doesn't matter really. No one is forced to do anything, so just enjoy it! X

Then it’s just a night in a pub with a load of other people who have the same interest as you

An organised social is just like an evening at a pub with a group of people with shared interests and a bit of flirting.

From my experiance single guys will predominantly not approach a couple and not be pests; it is a much more relaxed vibe and a great way to meet people.

If you can find out who is going and make contact with a few before hand then you will have people to chat to straight away.

Just a follow-up to say we attended the social and it was brilliant. Such a pleasant way to take our first real step into the the lifestyle. Met a lot of lovely people and Mrs A got lots of attention, but none of it pushy or horrible (and some of it quite welcome!)

Some of it?

Joking aside, it was great to meet you both. So glad you had a great evening. I know the first group social can be a bit daunting.

Ducks to water I'd say.

Thanks for posting this.

We are in the same position and a social is probably the way to go rather than just turning up at a club.

Hopefully we will have he same experience.

Keep an eye out for the Manchester Lounge Social, the next one is probably a couple of months away.

If you fancy a road trip there's the Lick and Bicker social in Leicester.

Both highly recommended.

We really enjoy a good group social where people are keen to chat to everyone, not just the people they want to have sex with. We've been to some great inclusive ones.

Is there a date for the next Heathrow social?

Yeah, that's what was so nice. And as newbies it was invaluable to get other people's advice in a totally unpressured setting.

Can't recommend it highly enough. Just a great night out at the pub, and really liberating to just be able to have frank and honest chat with people about all this. We were terrified before arriving, and we're made to feel totally at ease immediately.

Just a night at the pub, basically, but with a bunch of like-minded people. Much less intimidating than we thought it would be.

I think that's what's so nice. It such a relief to joke about giving another guy a blow job without your friends looking at you as if you've taken leave of what little sense you have.

I tend to agree....

I work in the city. Varying shades of black and dark blue everywhere.

A splash of colour stands out like a beacon.
