I've been one wearing all day for years.

Getting the correct internal diameter is crucial & it is a trial & error situation.

I used rubber/silicone types for a couple of years but not on a permanent basis & they tend to 'cut in'.

I use a stainless steel one now & I ensure it is cleaned when showering etc..

I would not recommend anyone wearing one on a permanent basis until your 'research' is complete. Nor should you ever use one that is too tight-your may get a nasty blister etc. otherwise.
