Why block what you claim to be looking for?

I appreciate couples and single women can be inundated with messages from the large number of guys on here (including many fakes) BUT why block older males when your headline/update says, "men wanted for cuckold, especially older guys"? The profile I have just tried to respond to doesn't even say, "men we will find you".

Maybe she's gone though her local newsfeed and or searched all the guys she's seeking, to block those she doesn't fancy.

May be she really is doing the searching herself but doesn't feel the need to advertise it.

Because their definition of older may not be the same as yours. Because they might be sick of the types of messages they get from the demographic they're looking for. Because they might not be currently meeting.

Their definition of older might not be the same as yours. Quite often younger men say they're interested in older women and they mean 35 to 40.

You’re not seriously suggesting that just because someone is looking for older men that they should literally want to drop their drawers for any man in their preferred age range?

It was a couples profile and they were clearly very active both playing as a couple and singly. In this lifestyle it is of course their prerogative to promote themselves in whatever way they want but to me it is misleading to strongly promote themselves as looking for older males to cuckold hubby but block such guys - and no I haven't had any message exchanges that might promote a block. In fact I've had no contact, obviously because all older males are blocked...?!

Most likely she's blocked you because she doesn't fancy you not that she's blocked all men!

I'm 38 and prefer older guys not old men. Maybe she and hubby are the same?

Most definitely not suggesting that - I suppose it is frustrating not to be able to 'set out my stall'...!

How old were they? Just out of interest.

I occasionally get messages from men looking for an "older, mature lady". I'm 33. It's all relative (although given my filters cut off under 25s, I don't like their definition at all!).

Also, I'm incredibly open minded when it comes to age. My filters are set to "above and below this have proven too much hassle".

Hey OP, seriously, you're not going to get any reasonable answers or pity or consolation round here. This is the granite-hearted fab audience.

At your age you should know better!

It could be as simple as they visit the forums and saw something that made them think they wouldn't want to meet you.

Op just because you think you are what they are looking for doesn't mean they agree with you. There is every likelihood they have seen your profile, decided you are not for them and blocked you so you don't show up on any searches they do.

Don't assume they have blocked all older men, it could be just you (along with a few others they don't fancy) that's blocked.

Instead of coming on to the forums to whinge about it just move on to the next person/couple that interests you

Op it’s all relative, we all have our own definition of what constitutes older. I like men older than me, maybe upto about 15 years older. Would I be interested in you? No! I have no interest in men who are old enough to be my dad. Conversely, I also have no interest in men who are young enough to be my child.

There will be people on Fab who are looking for men like you. Keep looking and I’m sure you will find them

I assumed he was talking about filters?

Either way, they run their profile as they see fit. It may or may not be their loss, but it's their prerogative.

And the truth shall set you free!

It seems you're miffed because you liked the couple, but didn't get a chance to have your end away with them.

Central

People alter their interests over time and vague terms, such as fit or older, are subjectively interpreted.

Just accept that when you reach one dead end, you can reorient yourself, going on to discover the masses who may now want you.

If messaging and it stops, accept that they aren't for you - no contact equals no interest - and they may block you.

Every society has its own unique style of behaviour and communication- focus on adjustment to the one here, so that you discard your dissonance.

Hey thanks for all the observations, it was not so much a 'whinge' than simply seeming odd to me that you would block those you purported to want to meet. Somebody asked how old she was, they, it was a couple, were in their 60's. OP

There and to the left a bit

Quite simply OP - because they can

I've found it's far easier to focus on those I do have a chance of contacting/potentially meeting than worrying about the actions of those I don't

We block all guys, though we do meet them.

We look for guys who interest us, otherwise we get messages from guys in our age range, who don't particularly fit our requirements.

You have set out your stall, that's your profile. And just because they've blocked you you can't assume they've done it to everyone. If you're talking about message filters then presumably they're finding and messaging profiles that interest them. No point moaning about how others choose to use the site, and negativity isn't very attractive.

"You can't block by age though "

You can. Go to Message Filters / Set Age /Click Age Preferences.

To answer the OP, they possibly get so many messages they carry out their own searches. It’s their choice how they use their profile.

I actually do have all single men blocked, because I don’t have enough free time to go through all the messages that having an open inbox invites.

I like to reply to all my messages, with the exceptions of the type of messages I list on my profile. Using my message filters means that I can be as courteous as I can.

The downside to using my message filters this way is that my looking for states that I’m not interested in single men, when in fact, I am.

Hope that helps.

I totally agree that it is up to them how they manage their profile - why not, as many do, simply say, 'men we will find you'! OP

I have loads on my block list for various reasons, most of them not personal. For example:

I mail someone and they delete the mail I block them so I don't mail them again.

They are someone I don't want to be involved with or have meet veri's with someone I don't want to be involved with, usually 420 or bareback

They piss me off in chat (that is most of my block list, makes chat quite readable )

They specifically don't want to meet people with the same interests as me, so block in case I mail them when not paying attention to their full profile

So, all in all being blocked isn't necessarily anything personal from the person blocked, it is a tool by me to avoid people I don't want to get in touch with.
