Of the person you love as you listen to something they’re saying and feel that overwhelming emotion and just have to say;

“God I love you”.......

.

.

.

.

And they just turn away as if you never spoke......

Shit, that hurts.

Harsh! And so not worthy of the words.

Or maybe he felt a bit unsure of how to react.

After 17 years. The last 6 married to this person..... you kinda hope they know how to react.

It’s the festive season.

It’s a time for relationship collapse.

Things still aren't going well?

You've both been through a very tough time that few can properly understand.

Hope things work out for the best for both of you.

Sending a hug.

Relationships are complicated and messy at the best of times. All great love stories end in tragedy. Treat yourself well and move towards finding someone who looks back at you with the same feelings.

I’m afraid she did. She’s hurting too.

It’s me who’s changed and so she’s mourning a loss. I, on the other hand, am looking at the same person I fell in love with and I still love her.

She doesn’t look me in the eye anymore so she doesn’t see the tears.

I am so sorry to hear this. I hope you can work it out. It’s a rare feeling. But true love never leaves you. Hardest thing is when you look into each other’s eyes and still see that love but for what ever reason one of you decides it’s not something you can handle and leaves trying to convince yourself you’ll find it again. When you look into someone else’s eyes and realise your looking at ‘them’ not who’s in front of you. Doing and saying everything to convince yourself it’s not. Don’t fall in that hole. #hug

This last bit is unfortunately the great unknown and there is no going back. It's what often keeps couples from separating. Carry on together and live something that isn't your life or split and take the leap. Nobody can answer for you - but I suspect many are in the same position, tethering on the edge!

Is why I got a divorce after 30 years of marriage to a lovely man who couldn't or wouldnt make me feel special. One person can't carry the relationship and do all the emotional heavy lifting without support. And that support comes in the form of love, hugs, cuddles, respect, shared times and shared goals. Just remember - this is a really really shitty time of year OP. It's hard for lots of us. Just hang on in there. Things change and when they do, that's the time to make big decisions. Hugs xx

I know we would both find other loves but the love we have is very rare. To find it once was incredible. To find it again with someone else...... very unlikely in my opinion.

I wouldnt rule out finding another love as strong as one you had with her. Your entering a new phase of your life now and you need a new partner who will fully appreciate the new woman you are now. Be it a guy or girl they will treasure you and never want to let you go. I thought like you id never find another after my ex but i did she found me and we couldnt be happier. I never thought my soulmate would be a trans woman but thats life for you can surprise you!

Up on them there hills

Have been chatting to a great lady on here and as we talked she reminded me of a poem from Kahlil Gibran in, The Prophet, called: on Love.

Been through an intense dynamic recently and it brought it back, almost an anthem to certain play.

Well she knows I’m on here and meet to play.

I don’t really want a relationship with anyone else. Just some fulfilment.

We swung together for some years until all the women trying to tempt her to play got on her nerves too much and she stopped.

Obviously, the permission to play is reciprocated; meaning she is free to find men if she desires.
