I'm fully aware that if you wink someone - or indeed if they wink you; then you have to wait a month until you (or they) are able to wink again.

Is this waiting time overridden if the wink is deleted?

We delete them as soon as they appear on our profile page.

Job done.

Yes I think it is but you will just be pissing people off if they've already deleted your wink.

My thoughts exactly - so it would seem prudent not to delete them.

I didn't know this!

Do winks even work for men. I read a lot of profiles that say they don't respond to winks.

Worthing

Means they’ve adjusted their privacy setting so they don’t show on “viewed me”

Most do not respond to winks.

Read the profile first and you get an idea

We must be in the minority that like to receive winks. They are just a nice little ice breaker if we send one back then further contact is welcome.

a lot of people do seem to get extremely angry about them so it seems.

I really dislike winks. If someone if interested I'd much rather get a message from them, I'd be far more inclined to respond.

We like winks - it saves time as you are therefore only messaging people that are interested. Wink away x

That's how I see them, so find it very confusing to wink back and never hear anything again. Makes me wonder why they winked in the first place. People use them so differently I don't really bother with them anymore.

Don't they just, because obviously you are forced to look at them and then look at all the profiles. People on here like getting offended even more than people on Facebook.

The wink is a "I'm interested " button. I use it because I get fed up trying to think of a new message to write every time.

Still get no reply though!

I never check my winks - I get lots a day so I put more weight on messages.

That said, if I go onto someone's profile and I see they've winked at me in the past (and I think they're hot) I might just message them.

I send winks to profiles I like as I don't have the time to write essays for the message to then get deleted...don't see why people don't like them, you get a wink you look at the winker, you don't like the winker you get rid of the winker but if you like the winker then sorted

Exactly the same as why we don't respond to them anymore. We never winked back, always sent a nice polite message to get nothing back 99.9% of the time

Love that you make a definitive statement and then go on to say about people with attitude.

How have you got to your age and not know what an ego is?

The waiting time is not overridden if they delete the wink. You still get told you have already winked them in the last 30 days. Plus if somebody didn't respond to the wink they are most likely not going to respond to a second one. They will probably just block you to stop you sending any more.

We only respond to winks when we're looking to meet and then only if the winker has an outstanding profile.

If we get the wink and the profile is and empty/fill later etc then we'll move on looking elsewhere.

If you wink and have nothing on your profile we can imagine any message would be less than engaging.

Perhaps I should take a few minutes to explain why I asked the question in the first place.

I'd sent a message (along with a wink - or so I thought) to what I felt was a compatible couple that I was attracted to; and when I next visited their profile, the "wink / eye icon" had vanished - and for all the reasons listed above, I didn't want to pester them. Oh, and incidentally, I didn't re-wink.

I hope this clarifies matters.

Not being able to write a decent message after reading a profile, and assuming that you match what they want, is the issue.

We like can do men not can’t be bothered men
