If you are married to a non fabber and you meet other people without their knowledge are you a swinger, an adulterer...or something else? Your non swinging spouse has absutely no idea about your "hobby". But they withold sex when they feel like it. So who can blame the swinged/adulterer. Right??

Swinging in our opinion is mutually consentual between all parties. If you're playing solo and partner knows and is ok with it, swinging... if your hiding it, you're a cheat.

People will and do blame the person who plays away. The blame is rarely placed at the doorstep of the person withholding sex.

Personally I think both bear equal responsibility for the situation they find themselves in and I would call them poor communicators.

If your whole relationship is just based on sex, then I’m afraid you need to get a grip. There is no justification for cheating, full stop. The easy option is to end the relationship first, sadly gutless cowards never do this. Just my opinion.

It's adultery. That said, unlike others I'm not at all judgemental on people who cheat and don't have any problems playing with men or women who're playing away.

In the majority of cases the spouse who's being cheated on HAS a contributory role. Doesn't mean it's fair on him/her and doesn't mean he/she "deserves" to be cheated on. But in most cases they're not that innocent either. I'm just saying people cheat for reasons that others are in no position to understand or judge.

Adultery is generally defined is a married person having sex with someone who is not their spouse. Consent is irrelevant. For example, adultery would be a ground for divorce even if the adulterers spouse consented to the adultery.

Obviously, I doubt anyone on here would see anything wrong with consensual adultery.

Legally, only sexual intercourse is adultery, any other sexual act is not. Also, having sex with a person of the same sex is not adultery.

It's often inadvisable to use adultery as grounds for divorce, it's much easier to use 'unreasonable behaviour'.

Adulterer. Anyone who has sex with others, without their husband/wifes knowledge and consent is an adulterer. Just being on fab, doesn't automatically turn them into swingers. They are still committing adultery.

On our experience a clear majority of alleged single men on here have wives or girlfriends.

Single women less so, as women are less likely to want extra curricular sex when they have a partner.

Casual sex is not swinging. It's just plain silly to link the two. If it was then we wouldn't need the word 'swinging'. No reasonably intelligent person would say universities are a hotbed of swinging

Read some of the threads on here especially but not only from young single men, they are here specifically for one on one with multiple partners... back in the day we used to call that casual sex.

Following the forums these days getting naked seems to count as swinging.

It's cheating. But if the person was happy with their spouse they wouldn't feel the physical or emotional need to go elsewhere. Doesn't make it right. But witholding sex/affection/intimacy isnt right either.

Yes it makes them a cheat but as to where the blame lies?......that's difficult to say. If sex is withheld then they are pushing their partner away, what is making them withold sex?

Things are never black and white and we shouldn't ever judge other people's relationships or actions that the individual takes, without knowing full facts.

I agree, but the point I was making is that there is no definitive definition is swinger, so those who play against their partners wishes or with consent or even positive encouragement can just redefine it to suit themselves.

Personally I am married, have consent but don't choose to use it. Despite limited opportunities I only want to meet as a couple.

Maybe right or maybe wrong, but I consider swinging as having sex with someone you are not in a relationship with, whereas cheating is having a relationship with someone you are not married to whilst you are married/also in a relationship with.

If that makes sense.

However, your other half might not think the same way so she/he might consider any form of physical contact as cheating, in which case I think she/he is correct.

I had a relationship where she enjoyed watching me having sex with another woman, but it was purely a physical act but never turned into anything else so not cheating, she also liked to hear about what happened behind her back, as did I, so also not cheating.

Isn't life and relationships complicated.

So in your brain, how do you reconcile swinging clubs and websites being largely devoid of people under 21 whilst universities are full of people having sex outside relationships? Do most people just cease being swingers when they graduate?

Adultery is having sex or an intimate relationahip with somebody without your partner's consent. Simple really. It doesn't matter whether you think you are a swinger or not if your partner doesn't know. It tends to have a very negative effect on the relationship in question when discovered.

I could have said Adultery/Cheating as adultery is a very narrowly defined term.

Speaking of adultery, isn't the whole concept archaic? I mean, WHY do we still cling to monogamy in 2018? Isn't monogamy really quite unnatural? Shouldn't sex be just like having a pint with m8s why is it so taboo?

In a sentence, it's because our culture hasn't cottoned on to the concept of birth control. There's an implicit assuming in our ideas about sex that pregnancy is likely. If that sounds odd then remember that we still have a school calendar that assumes kids won't turn up to school in summer months because they are needed to help with harvest.

It's cheating, adultery, no matter how you look at it, and your situation has nothing to do with it what so ever. If you disagree, call any attorney you like, he or she will educate you on the legal ramifications of what your doing. My advice is to stop now, have a serious chat with your husband to see if you can resolve the lack of sex situation in your marriage. If not, find out what he will accept and not accept you doing outside the marriage. If he will not accept anything, your only recourse is to stay, or leave. If he proves you've cheated, or even been in a questionable intimate situation with someone, in a court of law, it won't go good for you in many different ways, it's definitely not worth the excitement your getting out of cheating, and you will come to seriously

regret it if you continue. Hope you make the right choices.

Those people "should" be honest about it then its up to who they meet if its an issue or not. FB couples are a different entity to genuine, long term, open couples. In my opinion. (f)

Me too

We've had couples approach us ,one attached playing away or both. They didn't state on profile ,but iam easily suspicious and it was eventually admitted .

People should be upfront about their situations and respect that there are some people who won't meet cheats ,its even on our profile.

When I wrote that I was being theoretical, but not surprised it happens on Fab. I also agree about the honesty but keeping secrets (Or telling lies) can be habit forming for some.

Everyone has a view that makes them righteous but the reality is you only have that perspective because it suits you...it's not right or wrong, it's just someone's choice and those who judge need to look a bit harder at some of the decisions they've made in their life. Get off people's backs, if it's a no from you then just say 'no thanks' and move on...

I think relationships lasted that long in the previous generations was because (1) women were more tolerant or had no choice but tolerate their husbands' adultery (2) men (and women) didn't have so much choice available; now that we have the internet, it is so much easier (3) people are a lot less religious now (4) people are living longer and can't see staying "stuck" in a bad relationship for so many more years to come

Like I said, PHYSICAL monogamy is unnatural. However I can see myself married to one man for the rest of my life as long as the option to sexually indulge was open to both.

Isn't there a saying - it's not cheating if your partner is watching (plus if your partner is fully aware of what you are up to in my opinion). If you are in a relationship and neither of the above apply you are cheating.

The morals around it are of course unique to each situation as relationships are never black and white.

If you’re sneaking behind your partners back , you’re an adulterer/ cheating.

Swinging is consensual amongst all parties ( I include the play partners in that consent. If you’re married/ attached, make that clear to potential play partners . They have the right to know they’re playing with someone who isn’t available for more than play)

Being denied sex isn’t a reason to cheat . Discuss why sex is being withheld, if it can’t be remedied, then ask to get it elsewhere or leave the relationship.

My partner had a hysterectomy about 5 years ago and since then she doesn't enjoy sex. She dosn't know I come on here but does know I meet strangers for sex. So long as I am safe and don't tell her the details she is fine with it going on. Hence why I am discreet.

No need for justification... the same as you do not need to justify why you seek sex outside of marriage/relationship...or perhaps you do...so that is why you have your own "fancy term" to allow for non monogamous sex...which coincidentally singles are doing too...having non monogamous sex...

Surely both? Are they not totally different things? Can you not be both? Sexual preference and how faithful/ethical you are to your spouse are separate things. Being a swinger is not about unfaithfulness as cheating is not about swinging. It's perfectly possible to be a swinger and a cheat.

Casual sex is not swinging. It's just plain silly to link the two. If it was then we wouldn't need the word 'swinging'. No reasonably intelligent person would say universities are a hotbed of swinging

Holier than thou couples comment yet again...

Just common sense really. Don't try and lump yourselves in with us just because you need a fancy term to justify things to yourself.

So as a swinging couple you only ever meet swinging couples, you never meet singles like me ???

I class myself as a swinger even tho I’m single and enjoy casual sex, usually with couples or group scenarios

No we don't meet single women and you may notice our filters reflect this. We do meet people from couples on an individual basis. We like the fact that they have consensual relationships as that's what makes them swingers.

Plenty of swinging couples meet singles, swinging is a way of life and not just narrowed down to couples only. A lot of the couples on here don’t live together and most aren’t married does that make them less of a couple, I don’t think so........

Yes it is a lifestyle, one that requires a partner. No idea what relevance you think the rest of your post has. "

So...this website...someone started it....why did they even put an option for singles to be members? Single females, single males...according to your own fucking jumped up, self righteous opinion only couples are swingers...so why is there that option????...get over yourselves...it is a lifestyle choice(non monogamous sex)...not a smutty little secret exclusive to couples

You are part of the ethically non monogamous lifestyle so you are a swinger, yes. You don't hear me say 'singles can't be swingers' for the reason you stated. But to pretend that singles who wouldn't dream of sharing a partner (the majority on fab) are swingers is intellectually dishonest and an incorrect use of the English language.

No it's just a common sense definition than people on the street would understand. Swingers are a very small proportion of the population. If you asked a bunch of students, they wouldn't tell you they were swingers because they are non-mongamous. Swinging is ethical non-mongamy, the ethical bit meaning that at some point you need a partner or at least be open to sharing your partner. The vast majority of the population would not share their partner and to pretend otherwise is just delusional. Since swinging is such a niche, website like fab allow non swingers because it simply wouldn't be profitable if they didn't.

If they are over 18 that's a judgement for them, if they want to cheat that's for them and the thing that's driving them to do it, if you're in a club and a woman is lying on the slab naked and horny beckoning you over to stick your manhood in her do you say are you married what's your name, how old are you and do you smoke are you?

Exactly. Those that don't meet cheats seem to leave this rule at the door of a club when they walk in. Double standards by many on here.

"Speaking of adultery, isn't the whole concept archaic? I mean, WHY do we still cling to monogamy in 2018? Isn't monogamy really quite unnatural? Shouldn't sex be just like having a pint with m8s why is it so taboo? "

The morals around it are of course unique to each situation as relationships are never black and white.

"Everyone has a view that makes them righteous but the reality is you only have that perspective because it suits you...it's not right or wrong, it's just someone's choice and those who judge need to look a bit harder at some of the decisions they've made in their life. Get off people's backs, if it's a no from you then just say 'no thanks' and move on..."

Wrong, there are no acceptable moral standards that make it OK to lie and deceive for personal gain, so a cheater is a cheater whatever. There is no acceptable excuse. If you're relationship is bad stop lying and get out.

They can but there are a finite number of moral codes and one should be operating consistently within most of a framework if one is claiming to be moral. I'd love to know which framework says it's ok to lie to your spouse and have sex behind their back?

I certainly wouldn't call that moral. "

Unless that person is a Satanist then neither would i. But I'd also expect to see them acting relatively consistently with other morals of Satanism, in order to accept that answer.

"Isn't there a saying - it's not cheating if your partner is watching (plus if your partner is fully aware of what you are up to in my opinion). If you are in a relationship and neither of the above apply you are cheating.

The morals around it are of course unique to each situation as relationships are never black and white.

Morals are not unique to each situation. That's what makes them morals.

One can have personal morals that another doesn't have.

I supposed they could have a stab at justifying it under act utilitarianism, bit of a long shot in my opinion and not a good standard either

"Speaking of adultery, isn't the whole concept archaic? I mean, WHY do we still cling to monogamy in 2018? Isn't monogamy really quite unnatural? Shouldn't sex be just like having a pint with m8s why is it so taboo? "

People can't control their irrational attachments to others.

Jealousy gets involved and they call suffocating their partners love.

I can honestly say I don't want to be in a conventional relationship again.

Monogomy is only one reason it doesn't appeal to me.

Children are always part of the reason why people cheat, cheating will always happen and people will always judge and lie.

It's just how it is.

hiding from cock pics.

Why are children part of the reason, do you mean that they feel they can't leave their partner because of a sense of duty to their children but become adulterous?

Yes exactly that.

Vanilla folk don't share their partners because of various emotions and archaic viws of how a marriage should be.

One or both of you are inevitably frustrated.

The evidence is right here on Fab for us all to see.

For some people cheating can appear to be an easier path than being honest with their partner. When there are kids involved probably doubly so. The level of empathy you feel to your partner also comes into it.

Exactly. Those that don't meet cheats seem to leave this rule at the door of a club when they walk in. Double standards by many on here."

Exactly!

Well said

Being in control of the emotions that come with sharing your partner or being secure enough in your relationship is the way forward I think.

That's why I'm single- I cant do it

It's better than lying to someone I'm supposed to love!

That's not love.

But the other end of the scale, I am married and on here as a single, a long story basically wife had big C, thankfully recovered but chemo affected her and she became celibate that was 7 years ago now copd and osteo porosis is in too much pain. Every one to their own but I do hope the pretentious among you don't have to live with the frustrations I live with, and no I have not cheated as no one will meet with a married single unless they are female!!

"If you are married to a non fabber and you meet other people without their knowledge are you a swinger, an adulterer...or something else? Your non swinging spouse has absutely no idea about your "hobby". But they withold sex when they feel like it. So who can blame the swinged/adulterer. Right??"

Is this a serious question?

Cheating is still cheating. There's no excuse for it. Although plenty of here try to justify it .

When I had enough of my kids dad cheating, I left. Never took him back either when he crawled back. Kids suffer in bad relationships. No matter how young they are, they can sense it. Mine were so miserable. They're so much happier since their dad and I broke up.

If you have money and property, then devide it in half. The man usually chooses to work whilst the mums usually choose to take care of home and kids. As such she's given up the chance of a career and a life of her own to have his kids, take care of their home, kids, clean and cook for him. After years of that, she deserves half of everything.

So I do at times find it frustrating and amusing hearing all the excuses cheats give for their behaviour. They have no idea how it feels when the love of your life does that behind your back. It hurts like nothing else! I'd rather give birth every day then go through that type of pain.

Pretentious?? No it's called having self respect for ourselves to not become involved with someone else's husband without their knowledge. Respect for your wife even though we don't know her. We know how It feels to be the victim of a cheat. You have no idea! There's no way of be responsible for putting another woman though that! Worse, an ill woman who's been fighting for her life! Shame on you.!

I'm curious to know what your suggestion would be so that both people in the marriage are truly happy and fully satisfied?

"It's adultery.

I'm just saying people cheat for reasons that others are in no position to understand or judge."

Amen

The relationships aren’t always toxic, just not fulfilling in one aspect.

People will and do blame the person who plays away. The blame is rarely placed at the doorstep of the person withholding sex.

Personally I think both bear equal responsibility for the situation they find themselves in and I would call them poor communicators."

Thing is though when a guy says his wife/partner doesn't like sex we don't know if that is true.
