Hidden profile

I like to hide my profile when not seeking to meet but still the messages come through. Many of whom I have never chatted to or on my friends list. Why is that?

Yes but surely the whole point of hidden profile is that nobody can read it anyway, let alone message you! What's the point of it being hidden then?

When you hide your profile, put your filters on as well. That should stop new people but allow the old ones.

My profile is nearly always hidden, this and filters will reduce message numbers and the longer it's hidden for the less messages you'll get but it doesn't stop messages

If you don't have filters on you can be contacted. Also from forum posts.

My profile is nearly always hidden and I get messages. If from a forum post I answer, no big deal really. If wanting me to unblock etc to chat, I ignore. Idiots are not even worth the effort to block!

People see you in forums,from verifications and online in hotlist/friends list

Being hidden just slows the messages down from randoms,which i do like.I'm still meeting occasionally people that know me it's just nice and peaceful

If you don't wish to receive messages when your profile is hidden just go to your message filters and turn them all off.

As previously said, people who have messaged you before will still sneak through but nothing can be done about that unfortunately.

People will have hot listed you. They will realise they have a better chance of getting your attention as you are hidden from most so use it as an opportunity to mail you while many others don't.
