Face pic etiquette

Hi all, being a single man, whenever I message some one, I share a face pic, which I am happy doing.

I had a couple message me for a face pic, I replied asking politely for a face pic first, naturally to see I was interested in them. No reply and I was blocked.

Is it wrong of me to ask. For me it seems fair. I know there is a massive power imbalance between couples and single men. Discuss ....

no I've just put mine up now tired of being asked for it. Gotta be some give/take but there is a hierarchy.

We can seem rude to some in that we ask them to send theirs first. This is so we can know if we have met them professionally, if that is the case we wouldn't continue contact with them.

This largely applies locally and in certain areas of other counties, if someone is a hundred miles away, we wouldn't be so cautious and happy to share.

I was once chatting to a lovely man in Derby and then hubs was sure he recognised the face, end of. Just the way it has to be.

I believe in good manners. We all know what this site is for. It's good manners to send a face pic. If I message first I send a face pic attached. If others message me first with no pic I reply by asking firstly for a face pic. I don't give two hoots about your job or where your from. It's about knowing who the message is from and if I'm going to shag you or not

I understand, but men can have exactly the same reasons as you have just stated and it is kind of rude.

I know it won't change, due to the numbers of single men. In the ideal world, everyone would post their face pics. Respect your reply

My face picture is my profile picture, however if someone is initiating contact with me I expect them to send their face picture.

If I didn’t have a face picture and someone who initiated contact asked for one before they sent one, they wouldn’t get a reply.

Yep; learn your place in the Fab pecking order!!

To be fair mate; if a profile is unverified, and has no pics of their own, I never send a face pic. It could be one of your work mates with a fake profile

There is no face pic on a message etiquette just personal choice often stated on a profile.

We're probably in the minority in not being keen on pics being sent in a first message.

Generally for a single man, there is an expectation that a face pic will be sent in the first couple of messages. Different set of rules for couples and women with regards single men, It is just choosing who you are attracted toabd deciding to send a face pic, if you fancy them. Whilst there isn't a written etiquette, there is the unwritten etiquette. Thanks for adding your opinion to the discussion. ??

If someone contacts me first, I expect them to send a face pic first. Likewise, if I message first, I'll send mine when I feel comfortable enough that there's a chance me could meet - but if I've initiated contact, I'll never ask without sending first.

If someone messages us and their first message asks us for face pics and they haven’t included one of themselves I find it very rude and don’t reply. If anyone wants a face pic they should supply one of themselves first.

Some profiles demand face pics but state that they never send face pics of themselves which is ludicrous
