"I know what type of site this is and why the majority of people are on here. I also know some need discretion and dont want the whole world knowing about this side. But are socials a dead thing especially before a first meet? At times you would think I was talking about the plague when I ask about a social to see if we get on and for safety reasons. I know this is not facebook but still or is it just me?" Definitely agree with a social first, no exceptions. If the attraction isn’t there on all sides we don’t feel obliged to play in a social meet only.

Not for me they are not sometimes you come across someone and think a social is best first and if they reuse its an easy goodbye from me.

"I always prefer a social, I need to know the attraction is there and that I actually get on with somebody. If those two things arent there, I would rather go without sex and wait until I fond somebody I click with I have had more socials than sex meets for this reason " Snap

"We always meet socially first regardless of who we meet. Have to see if we all have a connection and chemistry with each other. " This and how do you discuss boundaries and needs if there is no social upfront. The internet isn’t a good place to judge incongruous.

As a single we can understand wanting one in a public place for safety reasons .

"When I first started..there was no internet, no socials..it was a case of word of mouth ..sneaky ads in the local paper. You just got on with it and took your chance..it all seems a lot more complicated now and even harder than it did with no internet and the like, because of all the barriers folk have up now .. people did have less hang ups too..I never did not have sex, even if they were not my type..I was not after love but an orgasm" Couldn't agree more, we are perfectly happy with each other and the vanilla friends we have so see no point in a social meet (interview) we know what we want and that is why we will only meet at clubs so if the meet goes nowhere we can still have fun together.

"I think people go to socials they choose/want to go to. If they see people they dislike or have problems with attending said socials, Then it can alienate them. It is quite ironic that alot of people mention nothing but discretion. However they will gladly attend a busy venue where someone can just shout of their business " Excactly no different to attending a club, accept at a club you meet real swingers.

How exactly is a public bar that caters to the general public the same as a swingers club? A social held in a city centre bar is full of regular people. Imagine their suprise if some bute decided to scream about the group sat next to them being swingers etc.

When have you ever been to a supposed swingers social where entry to the venue is not invitation only?" In my first year i went to multiple socials? Liverpool chester and fetish group socials. None of these have been in a venue that is invite only? That might be because people don't want to hire out busy city centre clubs to meet other swingers at their cost? So please continue to be arrogant in the way you question people about their experiences

"Judging by the complete lack of response to our recent social requests, we’d say yes.....very dead " Are people blind as well as mad. Very surprised at your lack of response. You both would be welcome to join our lunch time social in London on 2nd Nov. We have 4 joining us so far...

"Like most have already said, always a social first as we want everyone to click before any naughtiness. We are looking for a meet Friday and although we are asking for a social first, we would be happy to play same evening. Personally don't think they are dead, just think that there are more time wasters on here than genuine swingers. We had a meet set with a chap, then this morning his profile has completed vanished! " very nice profile and see we share some interests. Hope you continue to enjoy fabbing

I'd rather lose half an hour on a social if it doesn't work out, than waste an entire evening rolling the dice in a club

"I always prefer a social, I need to know the attraction is there and that I actually get on with somebody. If those two things arent there, I would rather go without sex and wait until I fond somebody I click with I have had more socials than sex meets for this reason " This right here. I've more of a need to be seduced by someone's personality than a photo and a few messages on Fab before I find them attractive enough. I've always met alone first as being happy with the potential other man is something I have to really want to play with before A gets to meet him! On a safety front, if it's a one-to-one social there are people around and it's less awkward to make the decision to leave rather than do something you may regret. I saw a brilliant scheme in pubs, I think in St Neots, where if you were on a date (which is kind of what I view a social to be anyway!) and felt unsafe or similar you could go to the bar and ask for Abigail as code for 'help me'. I'm not against people not having socials, horses for courses. Our horse just happens to be a very sociable one L x
