How lovely

I was messaged by a guy who was not my type at all, sent him the "no thankyou take care" reply and he messaged me back thanking me for my reply, wished me all the best and a very merry Christmas,

How lovely!!!

It made me change my mind and even tho I doubted we would ever meet he has become a lovely friend and are meeting this week for Xmas lunch.

I wonder what would happen if all men were so polite?

merry Christmas everyone x x

We've had the same thing and agree entirely to the point we've reconsidered.

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

Well for a start there would be a lot less forum threads,, I'm always saddened,, and it still surprises me that people abuse others ..big cheer.. its Always good to hear of positive behaviour,

Enjoy yourselves ..

I have made good friends with someone who is not my type we don't play but we go for meals and I get spoilt rotten

But he was very polite and didn't get rude because I said no thanks!

Hope you have fun xx

Exactly!!!! Thats why I never understand why guys send abusive messages in response to a polite thanks but no thanks and what they think it's going to achieve. Ms

With a cracking view

If I get a "thanks, but no thanks" message, I always say thank you for taking the time to reply.

They've been courteous, and so shall I

unless i get a totally obscene message i always send a polite thanks but no thanks. if i was stood at a bar the only overtures i'd ignore would be the offensive ones! so i use the same policy online. it does mean that even if its just one message and reply everything is courteous and pleasant. and you never know who you'll meet in a club - and sometimes you can change your mind in person, if you haven't already pissed them off that is!

manners cost practically nothing, a few seconds typing for a civil and friendly atmosphere? got to be worth it!

exactly, if i get a polite rebuttal, i always appreciate it and let them know i value the time they put into reply.

If they reply, i just think, no manners, full of themselves and move on. There are guilty parties on both sides of the gender divide when it comes to manners

These are the guys who are just out for all they can get.

I can say I have always replied with a thanks when knocked back. It doesn't take long to do, and that's how I was raised.

Similar here, I have 2 ladyfriends on here I can discuss stuff with that I couldn't mention to another soul. They're both very good friends.

Think its very much a 2 way thing.

I know ladies do get a LOT of messages - the majority being 'hi .. wanna fuck' but there are some nice guys out there who dont copy paste the same message a few times over!

You taking time out to reply nicely, solicited a similar reply

I always say thanks for the reply if I get a no thanks and wish all the best.

Very few people respond, even in the negative an I feel it's an action that ought be encouraged. I can't see the point in being nasty as I have had a meet or too from a polite reply....
