Why are people so presumptuous??

Had anyone else experience being directly messaged on kik without being messaged on here first?

I find it annoying and rude. Why do people presume that they can bypass the usual manners and curtesy required in communicating?!

Hiding in the shadows

I've had a few, but more often I get the opposite.

I'm in a couple of chat groups on Kik, group rules are no PMing without permission..

So they message me on here.

I only give it to ppl I’ve chatted with. No randoms then

If they have my kik then them messaging is not a problem, it is whether I can be arsed to reply or not really. It is if they try and call, either video on kik or on WhatsApp, without mmessaging first that bugs me. If I haven't spoken to you and I haven't said it is ok to ring then ya can safely assume I will not answer. It's why I stopped using WhatsApp for fabbers

How do they get your kik info, if they haven't contacted you already?

If you search a fab username in kik then you may find who you’re looking for.

Don’t publish your kik username then. People just make up the rules on here.

People don't read profiles, except they'll find contact details there, thinking it gets them closer to shagging you.

Some people are a little too close to desperate, so will do almost anything to get a meet - forgetting to analyse how they will be perceived. There is a wider culture of people who lack basic respect for others, seeing you as a tool to be used to get what they want.

It's one of the reasons I changed my username on FAB. It was the same for both, so I used to get random people messaging me.

They would just get deleted unread, the same as their message on here most probably would be, so I never really saw the point of it.

It's not difficult to block on kik. I don't see any issue and certainly nothing to get the arse over.

I never used to but people would still guess and manage to find me on there because my username on both were similar.

I think it's really rude, and assume they'd done it to avoid filters. A quick block on there (and on here if I could figure out who they were) was easy enough though.

I use KIK. I never get random messages (except the usual spam stuff), calls or anything else. WhatsApp is only used for people I know, and family and I don’t get that on there either.

Could be to try and get a conversation started easier than on here. I don't really see the difference my self, both can easily be ignored or blocked so some take a shot.

It might be stating the bleeding obvious but why not be more imaginative with your kik username...

I've just had this conversation on kik with a random guy sending me naughty pics. Not talked or asked for them

Depends if you put your Kik username on your profile, if you do then I guess you're inviting it. If not then yes, a bit rude x

I get lots of randoms on Kik.

Think they just trawl till they spot a pic they like attached to a profile name then just chance their arm.

Problem solved, took a pic of a plain white door and that's now my profile pic.
