Hi Fabbers,

I appreciate that no response to me introducing myself means not interested. No problem there. But some of my messages get read without being deleted, does this indicate there might be interest and possibly contacted at a later date, or is it simply that Fabbers don't clear out their inbox very often?? Cheers Alan

I think it’s that they don’t clear out their inbox often or ever

I think it's the fact they don't clear their inbox. Tbh a quick not interested would suffice, I also have a lot of read but not deleted mails that I've sent to couples. (Even couples that have winked my profile). I always attach face pics too

the inbox contains maximum 200 messages if they go beyond that they disappear forever, so if you're messaging somebody very popular they disappear very quickly and women on most fabbed pics ha

Not sure where you got this figure from as, on a previous single lady profile I've had over 400 unread.

For me, I might sometimes read them and not get around to responding due to being at work or busy in real life

That's all good if they don't delete messages I know not to bother with them again so it's a way to keep track of who not to message if you get no reply so win win and of course lazyness too

Have just returned to original post, where I got many replies and signed it off - it really must be my age and lack of savvy about the site. All responders thanks. Enjoy the Fab life.

Don’t be fooled into thinking if you subscribe you get more messages or women are more interested in you.

How much you pay the site doesn’t interest us.

Some tick the box that stops you messaging unless you’re a subscriber but that’s purely to limit the messages. If you’re a subscriber you might stay on the site more than an hour.

cmon you know and I know it's addictive, paying is about freedom to message and store pics and use more of the sites tools you don't have to pay here to use the site well that's one of the attractions of it but gold subscribers definitely get more pic storage, get to view more cams, so possibly get to see more messages in inbox I don't know whether that's the case yet but will find out shortly I imagine, I don't actually know anyone who's a gold subscriber but would be easy to tell by pic storage

After a few hundred you have to delete some to reveal the ones further down the list.

In my case it means I haven't deleted it yet.

If I were going to answer I either do so straight away or mark the message unread to come back to later.

My best suggestion..

Concentrate on the inbox it matters not what status your sent items are in..

"It means I'm lazy."

Also most times I'm busy. I could take a cheeky look at Fab on the train, my station comes up and I forget to reply or delete... It disappears from my first page of messages ... Lost forever. Sometimes I've looked for messages in vain... Can't word search...?

If I’m interested, I’ll reply to your message as soon as I read it. If I’ve read it and not deleted it, I’m not interested. I’m just lazy and haven’t bothered to delete it.

I don’t see how someone ignoring you could make you think there might be interest on their part

OP, delete all your sent mail as soon as its sent, that way you'll not know what the recipient has done with it. No angst then, you'll either get a reply or you won't. Don't stress about stuff that's out of your control.

I can't always reply straight away or I've not had chance to read their profile. Its great when you get a follow up message to say, 'i take it your not interested' or having a go at me. Decision made without even having to read their profile lol x

No it's not! that's pure speculation on your part.

We never use the 'unread' option and doubt the majority of members do.

Maybe very occasionally but I would say for the most part deleting your sent messages will make it easier to deal with.

The vast majority will read and delete, some will just read and a few might actually say no.

Not intending to put you off or sound overly negative but just being truthful.

Everybody is different and will have there own reasons.

In our case it means that we have not yet cleared out our inbox as if we were interested we would reply pretty much straight away.
